Calgary/Edmonton UNDER 54.5
I've been looking all week for reasons to play Edmonton simply because I have such a difficult time believing that the Stamps will be able to take them seriously after the two previous beatings and a road game @ Saskatchewan next week. But I just couldn't do it, although I would lean EDM here because teams are usually best to bet on when no one else wants them.
So then I got thinking, if I think CGY takes EDM light this week and I don't want to bet EDM, what can I do? Bet the Under! As good as Calgary's offense has been this year I think this week, after putting over 50 on EDM twice this year, they are going to come out with a very, very vanilla game plan just trying to get out of here with a W and not getting anyone hurt, leaving their best in the playbook for next week @ SSK. Plus, Edmonton's defense hasn't been that brutal at home. They give up 358 yards/gm at home compared to an insane 474 yards/gm on the road and over 400 in each game. On the other side, even if Calgary's D doesn't bring 100% I still think EDM will struggle to get to 20 simply because Calgary's D-line is so good and EDM's o-line is so bad. Plus injuries are piling up at a remarkable rate on the Eskies offense, they are literally bringing in guys off the street for this one.
Overall I see Calgary with a very vanilla game plan and Edmonton still struggling to score which should keep this one Under the number.
