The Elks beat up on the Tiger-Cats and got their 1st win of the season one week after team President Victor Cui and the Elks parted ways, the Blue Bombers barely held on for a 1 point win over Calgary aided by a Peredes field goal miss with seconds remaining, the Alouettes came roaring back to steal a 1 point win in Ottawa, and my Riders bullied the Lions around, something BC is not used to this year!
Week 12, all picks moneyline:
WINNIPEG Collaros is practising and looks like he is going to be starting this week. If it wasn't for a missed Peredes field goal in the dying moments of the game then Winnipeg would have lost last week against Calgary. The last time Winnipeg and Montreal met back in week 4 the Bombers won 17-3. Winnipeg had one of those goose egg type games last week after coming off an emotional high the week before beating the Elks after being down by 22. Oliviera continues to impress with 80 yards on 14 carries. He plays with so much fire and pumps the guys up around him. Winnipeg comes out with more fire and passion this game infront of their home crowd.
Montreal is now on a 4 game win streak with 2 of those games without Fajardo. The Alouettes are coming off of another huge 2nd half. After scoring 3 points in the 1st half, they put up 22 in the 2nd half and held Ottawa to 7 points to sneak away with a 1 point win. It's time for Montreal to lay a goose egg after last weeks huge comeback win after they looked dead in the 1st half! Caleb Evans had a great game completing 24/36 for 333 yards, 2 TDs and 2 INTs but let's not forget how awful Ottawa's pass coverage is. Montreal continues to beat the teams they should be beating and losing to the tier 1 teams. The Alouettes have a handful of injuries and this is the week those injuries are going to nip them in the butt against much stronger competition then they've faced in their past 4 games. It looks like Fajardo will be starting for Montreal. The Alouettes have 1 less prep/rest day then the Bombers since Winnipeg played on Friday and Montreal Saturday. Bombers roll at home. ATS records: Montreal is 5-4 and Winnipeg 5-5. 33-20 Bombers

TORONTO The Argos are coming off their 3rd and final bye of the year with teams now 9-3 off the bye week. They also haven't forgotten their only loss came to the Stamps just 3 weeks ago (without Chad Kelly most that game). I believe the Argos come out of the bye hungry with revenge on their minds and what better way to dish out a punishment then in front of your home crowd on Friday Night Football.
Poor Calgary, they've been in a bunch of close games and lost some heartbreakers this year and are going through a brutal stretch in their schedule. They could have and should have beaten Winnipeg last week. Calgary's defense played with a lot of grit and toughness. Maier must play better football for the Stamps to take that next step. He went 11/24 for 190 yards and 1 INT last week and that isn't going to cut it. He has now thrown for 190 yards or less in 5 out of 10 games this year and hasn't thrown for more then 190 yards in his past 3 games. Calgary hasn't scored more then 20 points in their last 4 games. Tommylee Lewis and Ka'Deem Carey didn't practise on Monday, something to keep an eye on as the week goes on. Calgary has now beaten Toronto 15 of the past 16 times they played each other, crazy. Calgary is way more talented then their record suggests and we have seen flashes from them but overall they are an underwhelming team. ATS records: Calgary is 4-6 and Toronto 7-1 (best ATS record in the league). 34-16 Argos
BC The first thing I need to mention is they need to fire offensive linemen Kent Perkins or else Vernon Davis/Dane Evans won't make it through the next few games. After looking completely disinterested and getting bullied around by the Riders last week you'd have to think BC is pissed off and ready to unload on the Tiger-Cats who just gave the Elks their 1st win of the season. BC almost came back last week and Vernon Adams put up big numbers despite hobbling around most of the game with what looked like a charley horse to the quad. Adams completed 26/41 for 455 yards, 3 TDs and 1 INT and added another 24 yards rushing on the ground. Hollins and Whitehead also had huge games despite a losing effort. I was shocked to see the Lions getting bullied and pushed around last week and digging themselves a 31-13 deficit. They almost expected to walk into Mosaic Stadium and leave with an easy win without using too much effort. That effort reappears in a big way in this one. BC rolls after not showing up last week.
Hamilton was coming off a bye week last week and still lost to the Elks as 6 point home favorites. Hamilton sure has fallen down the stepladder over the last couple years and now have to make the cross country trip to play a motivated BC team. Powell played a decent game last week completing 20/26 for 218 yards and Butler added another 114 yards on 14 attempts on the ground. I said it a few weeks back and will say it again but the TiCats coaching staff is losing the team, not everyone is on board and it doesn't help they can't keep any QBs healthy. TiCats get stomped. ATS records: Hamilton is 3-6 (worst ATS record in the league) and BC is 6-3-1. 36-13 Lions

EDMONTON What a heartbreaking loss for Ottawa last week who looked like they were going to win the game up 17-3 at the half, but they could only manage to play 2 quarters of good football and unravelled in the 2nd half. Montreal really held Ottawa's offense in check last week. Crum completed 14/19 for 130 yards and 1 INT and added 42 yards on the ground rushing. Ottawa has no running game to speak of and are very one-dimensional on offense unless Crum is running the ball. Teams are figuring out how to stop Crum and his rushing so Ottawa has came back down to earth in recent weeks. When you can't run on offense and can't stop the pass on defence you're in trouble.
Edmonton, you finally won a game and in convincing fashion! Sure it was against the worst team in the league but a win is a win and a huge win at that. This should be an exciting game to watch as we have 2 of the most athletic QBs in my recent memory going head to head and both teams having a suspect defense. Ford completed 13/18 for 174 yards and 2 TDs and added 60 more yards with his legs. Brown rushed 16 times for 89 yards. I like the Elks in this one, they've got more swagger and are playing with much more enthusiasm then the RedBlacks. Ever since Ford was named the starter and they got rid of awful offensive coordinator McAdoo they've played with more mojo. ATS records: Ottawa is 4-6 and Edmonton is 4-6. 23-19 Elks
Good luck!
TEASER: 1-1 last week, 10-2 overall
TEASER: (7 pts): WIN -1.5 TOR -2.5 BC -3
TOP OFFENSIVE GRADE: Saskatchewan Roughriders - this was close between the Riders and Lions but I'm giving the edge to the Riders because they were playing with a 3rd string QB as 11 point underdogs. BC also had no run game last week with Adams and Mizzell adding a combined 39 yards and terrible offensive line play. Most of BCs yards came through the air. Dolegala looked day and night different from the week before against Montreal and this game against BC. He completed 18/29 for 239 yards and 3 TDs against the best defense in the league. Dolegala and Morrow added another 86 yards combined rushing. Emelius blew up with 5 receptions for 106 yards, 1 TD and that was an AMAZING TD catch!
TOP DEFENSIVE GRADE: Winnipeg Blue Bombers - another close call between the Bombers and Elks. Winnipeg held Calgary to 0 touchdowns and 6 field goals, including 1 interception return for a touchdown that played a huge part in deciding the outcome of this game. Winnipeg held Calgary to under 250 total yards offense including 3 sacks.

BYE WEEK: Saskatchewan Roughriders - what a hell of a game they played against BC. It's easy to say now, but the whole team played with fire in their eyes and fed off the home crowd. The Riders knew the importance of this game with Winnipeg on deck back to back after their bye week. They did not want to go into the bye with a bitter taste in their mouth and they put on a show against BC. They were physical, really physical. They hit BC right in the mouth and hit them hard. This dude that goes by Brunson made some HUGE hits and put the rest of the league on notice. Emilius played out of his mind, Dolegala converted into Justin Herbert within 1 week, and Lanier is an animal. When he's playing and not hurt he elevates the defense. Micah Johnson and Pete Roberson are also playing great and getting consistent pressure on the QB. Does anyone else notice how big Micah Johnson is?! I always thought that dude wasn't human, he's double the size of anyone else on the field! Just the way he walks shows his mammoth unearthly size. Man that dude is jacked. If Dolegala can keep up his play and the WRs keep doing their thing, the defense continues to apply heat on the QB and Alford starts revving his return game up again then watch out for my green Riders.
MY POWER RANKINGS AFTER WEEK 11: (number in brackets shows previous weeks ranking) 1)Toronto (1) 2)Winnipeg (2) 3)BC (3) 4)Montreal (4) 5)Saskatchewan (7) 6)Calgary (6) 7)Ottawa (5) 8)Hamilton (8) 9)Edmonton (9)
Only 2 changes to my power rankings this week. Toronto stays in #1 spot enjoying their last bye of the season only losing 1 game this year due to Chad Kelly getting hurt. Winnipeg is starting to breath down Toronto's neck but remain at 2 with a tight win in Calgary. BC stays in 3rd after getting tossed around against the Riders and Montreal stays in 4 after a big comeback win against Ottawa. Montreal can't move up higher then 4 until they can show they can beat 1 or 2 of the teams above them. Saskatchewan moves up 2 spots from 7 to 5 with a huge win at home against BC which shocked me and Calgary stays in 6 barely losing to Winnipeg in a game they should have won. Ottawa drops down 2 spots to 7 after also losing a game they should have won. Hamilton remains in 8th with a disappointing loss to the Elks coming off their bye but Edmonton is lurking. Edmonton stays in 9, but that gap is closing quick. A win this week and they'll be in 8th spot next week.

I think Tre Ford makes a huge difference to his team. I definitely like Elks with a short, disrespectful line but they have not won @ home in a while so,, yea
Ford goes off on Redblacks weak defense
