This is just a simple case of the yin and the yang, back and forth whatever you want to call it. Last week Calgary was at home off a bad game looking to make a statement and that's exactly what they did in shellacking this Montreal team. This week is the exact same situation except in favor of Montreal. I expect the Als to bounce back nicely this week after getting embarrassed last week. History shows they will. Over the last 3 years Montreal has lost by double digits 5 other times (they were drubbed by 25 last week) and all they have done in the next game is go 5-0 SU and ATS winning by margins of 36, 25, 35, 22, and 21, impressive stuff.
I also expect the Montreal defense to man up after giving up 46 last week. This is a veteran group who will no doubt be pissed off, plus they always play a lot better at home. Going back to the 2007 season the Als have played 33 regular season home
games and have only given up 18 PPG, which would be very good in the
NFL but in the CFL it is simply outstanding.. Another interesting stat
over that same time frame with this Montreal defense is at home after
giving up over 30 points in a road loss their previous game they've
given up just 15.7 PPG. So Montreal should be bringing it in this one and I get the sense Calgary may come out a little flat after last week's beating and the fact this is a 1:00 game in the East for this Western team. Montreal gets back on track. Really tempted to play the Under here too.
Winnipeg -3
Here's what I wrote about Winnipeg last week:
There's just something about this Bombers team that is catching my eye
lately. They are a scrappy group that looks to be putting something
together to end the year. They've covered 3 of their last 4 and were a
punt return TD away from 4 of 4. The offense has been looking really
good lately, Winnipeg has committed to Buck Pierce longterm but Steven
Jyles has come in and played really well. He looks like a very good
quarterback and should be starting somewhere next year. They have a good
running back, and now all of a sudden they may have one of the best
receiving corps in the league. They've had Edwards and Bowman who have
been dependable guys all year but they get Harris back this week who may
have been their best player before he got hurt 2 months ago. Plus,
they might have found a diamond in the rough in Greg Carr who was
Florida State's 2nd all time touchdown leader. He came in last week in
his first game and caught 2 TD's of over 70 yards on his first two
catches. More importantly this guy is huge! He's 6'6 and receivers in
this league just don't come that big. Harris is 6'3 or 6'4 as well. With
all these guys in the lineup there are going to be matchup nightmares
all over the field.Winnipeg gets their best corner back this week from last season as he was released by the Detroit Lions.
Winnipeg didn't win last week but they did cash the money on the cover. They out gained the Lions and only lost by 2. Back at home I look for this improving squad to get it done in front of their home crowd on this Thanksgiving Day afternoon game. Winnipeg has a nice D-line and they should be able to feed off the energy of the crowd to wreak havoc against a BC o-line that has struggled all year and been just terrible on the road.
GL this week gents and Happy Thanksgiving!

I got out of Winnipeg completely. The Bombers announced they are starting a rookie QB this week making his first career start. I'm not sure why as Jyles was playing well and not the problem.

Might regret it

Oh thank god I got out of Winnipeg.
When losing a little juice feels like a huge win.
How fucking stupid is the Winnipeg staff benching Jyles?

it was easily the right move, brinks is beyond bad, this game shouldnt have been close. i was happy to get my first half bet win and take the split. there really werent any bad calls, it was just a total b.c collapse, period, you re right they are done.
