Well what started out as a nice year for myself, it has quickly fallen apart of the past 5-6 weeks. I did hit the Alouettes futures which was nice and has kept me above water right now but this league is just crazy. Who would have thought that the Tiger Cats could go to Winnipeg and win S/U? Anyways, grabbing this line early as I think it drops before kick off.
Toronto Argonauts @ Edmonton Eskimos: Argonauts +7.5
Yes the Eskimos put away an Als team that has given up on the season but the Argos' will play with their heart in this game as their playoff lives are on the line. Thats the same with the Eskimos as they need to keep winning but giving the Eskimos this kind of chalk against a team like the Argonauts doesn't make sense. Will take my chances on the Rays and their offensive weapons against a Eskimos's team who leak points.

What in the heck happened to the WNBA forum towards the end?
It deteriorated into a quagmire of sick minds towards the finale.. I don't know if I've seen anything just turn so ugly. Thanks for running the thread, though I don't know if I were you if I would be doing it again. The W was tough this year as well.

Not sure what happened there buddy but yeah thats the last year I run the contest. Takes me too long to update the standings and after 4 years of running it, will just sit back and concentrate on my own capping of the games next season.
Do you watch the NBL and WNBL? There is a forum on covers called "other pro basketball" and thats where some of us post our plays for the season which just started last weekend.

No, I'm not watching it....I just hired a guru-type from Sydney to walk me through 20 years of backtesting data on the stock market, very similar to the coding and queries used in sportsdatabase, using a site called amibroker.
You test stuff out and see if it has a history of success....and I've found some pretty good trading rules that I'll start utilizing....the nice thing about the market is with a stop loss you can minimize losses and the win amounts are not fixed.
That will start taking up my focus and time, though the guru-guy I talked to after we had a chat is interested in sports betting!...haha.
I've told him that sports betting is a pretty slippery slope, but referred him to the Alan Woods article I posted awhile back and also the MIchael Konik book on him and Billy Walter's foray into beating the Vegas books a few years back. You may know that Walters and Woods used algorithms and computer programs to get the edge they needed. So, if he is going to do it,....the solution would be to hire someone with an advanced math and/or statistics degree, plug in numbers for the time required whether that be months/years until they had an edge. That's what Konik did at the end of the book, having remembered he had a math-nerd friend from high school that was a PhD at Harvard in Mathematics.
