I wasn't able to get on last week while in Vegas to post, my bad on that.
I don't have a lot of time this week either, life has been busy so this week's write-up will be short and sweet.
All of the games last week were high scoring and I missed out on all four of them. The Lions edged out the Ti-Cats to keep their hopes of 1st in the West alive, the Riders do what they have done best the last 2 months and that's lose in another must win game against the Stamps after blowing a 13 point lead, the Als whooped the Elks and Argos punched the RedBlacks in the face.
Week 20, all picks moneyline with ATS discussion:
BC
The Lions need to win this game to keep 1st place in the West alive and Vernon Adams was a full participant in practise Monday. If BC loses, then Winnipeg clinches 1st in the West before their game on Saturday. This is also BCs home finale before the playoffs. BCs offense will be too much for Calgarys average pedestrian offense. A Calgary win and Sask loss clinches a playoff spot for Calgary and a Sask win and Calgary loss clinches a playoff spot for Sask. Lions cover -8.5.
35-22 Lions
TORONTO
This is a bit of a weird game as we have no clue who Toronto will roll out onto the field. It could be their starters for a quarter, or half their starters, or all backups giving bench players a look in a meaningless game for them. The Argos have nothing to play for and the Riders have everything to play for and the Argos are 10 point favorites. I am not betting this game because of all of the unknowns of the Argos lineup and for the completely opposite motivation factors of both teams. The more desperate team playing for everything is 10 point dogs to a team just wanting to go home not sustaining any major injuries. Argos win but don't cover the -9.5. The Riders had an 88% chance to make the playoffs before week 18 and now they don't even control their playoff destiny. Pathetic.
25-18 Argos
WINNIPEG
Winnipeg is coming off the bye into a sold out IG Field knowing if they win (assuming BC wins on Friday night) they will clinch 1st in the West and the coveted bye week. The Bombers should lay it all on the line for this one so they can rest players next week before their bye week the following week. I love Winnipeg in this one (assuming BC wins) as the Bombers offense will be able to move the ball and score points with ease against the Elks defense and Ford will be pressured into making mistakes as the Bombers dominate this game from start to finish. Bombers cover -11.5 easily.
38-16 Bombers
TEASER (6 pts): 2-1 in week 18, 23-8 overall
BC -2.5
WPG -5.5
Skipping top offensive and defensive grades as I didn't catch any of the games last week.
POWER RANKINGS AFTER WEEK 19 (# in brackets shows week 18 ranking):
1)Toronto (1)
2)Winnipeg (2)
3)BC (3)
4)Montreal (4)
5)Hamilton (5)
6)Calgary (9)
7)Saskatchewan (6)
8)Edmonton (7)
9)Ottawa (8)
First 5 teams stay the same from my previous power rankings. Calgary makes the jump from 9 to 6 as they picked up a huge win over the Riders taking them off life support and putting them right back in the playoff hunt. Sask drops from 6 to 7 losing another must win game, and the two teams eliminated from playoff contention are bottom of the rankings. Edmonton dropped from 7 to 8, and Ottawa dropped from 8 to 9.
Good luck!
