OTT +7 @ MTL
Ottawa looked great last week in their season opener against the Bombers. Dru Brown didn't need any time to settle in with his new team completing 20/33 for 238 yards, 1 TD and no INTs. Their new RB Ryquell Armstead had a great game adding 95 yards on the ground on 16 carries. Justin Hardy had a huge game reeling in 7 receptions for 111 yards and 1 TD. If Dru Brown is the real deal which he is looking more and more like, Ottawa will be a dangerous team with an already great defense.
Montreal just keeps trucking along. They are such a boring team but play great defense and opportunistic on offense. Fajardo is playing more like a game manager and it's getting the job done. The Als barely squeaked by the Elks last week and this is just too many points to take them here. Montreal ekes out a win but doesn't cover. They win this game with their defense. This is Montreal's home opener as well.

BC got a lucky cover last week against Calgary but still doesn't seem like their the same BC team of last year, but it's still early. Through 2 weeks, Vernon Adams leads the CFL in attempts of 20+ yards. BC is looking to create more balance this year with Stanbeck in the mix. Their defense and pass protection was much improved last week.
What is going on with the Bombers? Are injuries to blame? Old age? Not interested? The Bombers look lethargic and lost at times. Collaros still hasn't throw a TD pass this year and has thrown 3 INTs. Oliveira is injured, but Augustine is a fine fill in. Lawler is injured, but Winnipeg has a deep WR core. Oliveira is questionable for this game but hasn't practised all week. Lawler is on the 6 game injured list with a fractured arm and is out. I am going to give Winnipeg one more chance here playing at home where they have been almost unbeatable and in desperation mode losing 3 meaningful games going back to the Grey Cup last year. Winnipeg will be playing with a sense of urgency and with more desperation. Winnipeg wins and covers.

The Elks almost squeaked out a win last week against Montreal but came up just short. Bethel-Thompson got worse as this game went on and ended up throwing 2 INTs. Is it soon time for Tre Ford? Although they paid Bethel-Thompson a lot of money he may have a longer leash. Gittens Jr. is doing great on his new team and is #2 in targets in the league. The Eskimos do have weapons but the team as a whole still hasn't come together.
The Argos have only played 1 game this year and have been off since June 9. Bigtime rest advantage in their favor. They have the best Oline and Dline in this early season so far. Dukes looks really good behind his Oline and Carey is a great compliment in the backfield. Toronto has won 10 straight regular season games at home and are coming off the bye where they have won 5 straight games on a week's rest. Argos win and cover.
