Horrible start to the year as either betting on BC or fading Edmonton has sent me to the poor house but I cannot let emotion get in the way as I see this as a nice spot to fade Edmonton again. The Eskies have been out to prove themselves all year and before last week had not had a signature win but then they went on the road to prove they were for real and picked up a huge win in Calgary. If there were any remaining doubters about this team they have probably all been converted and that is usually the time to hop on the other side and fade especially as a big fav.
This looks like a big flat spot for Edmonton as they don't have to prove themselves anymore as I've said as most everyone thinks they are now for real. Kavis Reed can give one of his "rah rah show em your men!" speeches before this game but how can the players take him seriously when they are 4-0 and now have everyone's respect and also find themselves as big favs against a 1-3 doormat throwing out a backup QB? I don't think they can. There is a massive difference between looking for respect and looking to make a statement before a road game against your arch-rival and being a large fav against an out of conference doormat. Edmonton has road games @ 3-1 Winnipeg and @ 3-1 Montreal in the next two weeks. I think they sleepwalk through this one.

Agree about Calgary. I think I just need to see one more good game from Skatch.
I'm pissed I didn't play them last week, that was a spot similar to this one where Montreal was off a couple good games and more than likely wouldn't take Skatch seriously. Even if Calvillo didn't get hurt Skatch had that cover from the word go. Bad bet on Calgary last week too. I'm off my game.

On the other hand the talent is still there for Calgary and they "could" bust out at any time.
Tough game for me.

ya i agree on montreal, i got caught up in the moment too. no doubt skatch was covering no matter what. i dont think calgary was a bad bet though seeing as it was week 4. that team was dominant at home last year now 0-2 if you can get through the first 5 or 6 weeks around even then you can get a real feel for who s who. im just wishing i had jumped on edmonton +1100 to win the division

The Bombers are saying all the right things about winning this one for coach Harris but I think they just won't have anything left in the tank as the loss is just too fresh.
For starters they are playing this game on just 4 full days rest after coming back from down double digits on the road last Saturday. Throw in a flight and this was already a tough spot but losing a coach who by all accounts was beloved makes it that much tougher to find the energy to play well considering he died just 2 days before the game, and he died on the teams facilities no less. Here's a few quotes from yesterday just one day before kickoff regarding the death:
Defensive captain Doug Brown: "It’s very difficult today. "We’re kind of lost out there defensively,
especially our group. We’re without direction right now… without our
leader."
Fred Reid: "It’s a real shocker and everybody is taking it hard".
Terrance Edwards: "It’s very tough to even walk in the building"
Bombers reporter at practice yesterday: The Bombers' walk-through was eerily silent through most of the session.
No player raised his voice, and coaches gave out orders with less
volume than usual.
These guys are still in mourning. Summoning up the energy to win a professional football game just two days after a huge loss will be tough to do especially after the guy was loved the way he was. I remember when Sean Taylor died a few years ago and the Redskins loved him and said they were going to win it for Sean the following week but they ended up losing SU at home as -6.5 favs.

On BC myself. Wouldn't bet the farm but I think it's the right side. Wish I had some 3.5 however.

It's a must win situation for Win since they have to honor their coach. If they lose they will have to kill demselv
If the Bombers get it done tonight I will tip my cap. This is a tough situation, I just have a hard time seeing how they find the energy. But if they do it will be a well deserved win. Let's keep in mind this is a big game for BC too as it is basically a must win. With all the focus on Winnipeg it might be a good spot for them to sneak in and play well.
