Back from a long weekend A Friend's Wedding and A Vacation much needed before the grind of CFB and NFL seasons
Did not get to see the final game last week CGY at SASK but my Stamps came through and the FG kicking did not come back to bite me, rather won me the game
Watched the highlights and did Tristian Jackson not realize his team was down by 4 and in all essence lost the game after his "mammoth" hit on Bryant.....just stupid showboating hotdogging and celebration reminds me of a Texas A&M player that celebrated sacking OU QB when his team was down 77-7 .... you just LOST bud, calm down
Overall A Good Week, will continue to be selective this week .... only the strongest plays from Tommy Covers
Let's try to get it back to even this week Looking for 3-0
Good luck this week CFL Brothers

Montreal is in the midst of a 2-game slide but no better opponent to stop the slide than the Toronto Argos
Toronto looks more lost than Calgary, dead last in Avg offense per game (303.4) because of a brutal passing game (217.0) also last
QB Lemon will remain on the bench and Dalton Bell is no A.C. Montreal has had some defensive struggles but TOR will not provide the same test
Toronto has been a decent rushing team avg just over 100 yards per contest, but MTL is one of the stingiest rushing defenses giving up just 87.8
On the other side Toronto is near the bottom in total defense (384 ypg) while the quick strike MTL offense is rolling up 404 ypg
Just 2 weeks removed from a 40-17 pasting (MTL had 469-287 yards edge)
MTL does take care of the ball 4 INT and 1 FUMBLE while Toronto is on the opposite end of the spectrum with a whopping 9 FUMBLES and 7 INT .... big edge in the TO department to MTL
I think this line reflects too much the MON-TOR match-ups of yesteryear and not the current state of these 2 teams (but just FYI a similarly lined game last year at TOR ended up MON by 7 which would be good enough for the win)
Despite MON 2-game slide I think the talent differences are vast and see the Als cruising to another comfortable win over the overmatched Argos
Montreal has won 7 of the past 9 ATS with 1 game a meaningless Week 18 game last year!!
Plus we have a huge disparity in the coaching department with #1 HC Trestman against Bottom 2 stalwart Barker
MONTREAL 30 TORONTO 22

Montreal -4.5 at Toronto 110/100

Believe me I understand the home field advantage that Mosaic provides but Calgary just hasn't looked like the potent, explosive offense that we envisioned
Whether its injury personnel or scheme related the Stamps have struggled to a 3-2 record, and have really struggled at home thus far going 0-2
Meanwhile Hamilton has turned around an 0-2 start by winning 3 straight and appears to be playing its best football after an 8-point home win over Montreal
QB Glenn is finally hitting his stride (9 TD/4 INT) and has his confidence back as well as the confidence of the offense
Surprisingly Calgary is just 6th in scoring offense (Hamilton is 3rd) and many of the key statistics (rushing yards, total defense, turnovers, points against) the teams are remarkably close
One area where HAM might have an edge is in the trenches. Calgary has given up 15 sacks, worst in the league, while HAM has produced 12 meaning they should be able to pressure QB Burris
I like this game to stay close all the way and head down to the wire meaning my play is on HAMILTON plus the points
This game has the chance to be an outright winner which means the +155 moneyline should be under consideration as well
HAMILTON 25, CALGARY 24

HAMILTON +4 at CALGARY 110/100

My early lean is to Edmonton -1 on the road at Winnipeg
I love the WIN "D" as you all know on here, ball-hawking play makers
Pierce's health is always a question especially if he continues to make plays with his feet....coming off a concussion
I think good "O" from EDM will win out over the WIN "D" because the EDM D will hold the WIN O in check
As of right now this is not a play but we will see how the line moves heading towards kickoff (already dropped from 1.5 to 1......i'd love to get PK or better on this)

Not touching the Mon/Tor game here TC. but i clearly understand your thinking on betting Montreal. Whitaker not getting as many carries probably because Montreal has trailed in almost every quarter of the last two games. Kackert earning some brownie points for the Argos.
On the STAMPS this Week .
Good luck in WEEK 6.

So says a guy who cheers for a team that does bobsled and relay race skits after a TD and who employs the likes of NIk Lewis!! LOL...
Anyway....love your Montreal pick. I just have a feeling they are going to grind up TO into little pieces this weekend. They can't look bad 3 weeks in a row...can they?? I'm betting NOT.
Not so sure about the Hamilton/Calgary game. HAM is playing really well right now but you have to know that Calgary is a better team then they've been showing us. The question is when will they show us? I might be more inclined to make a small play on the UNDER in this game..
Good luck to all! DWE

Hah...my fav. player ever was Barry Sanders who handed the ball to the official after every score. Too bad there aren't more like him
I agree Calgary is vastly talented and I have no doubt they will be full throttle come playoff time
They have been mediocre thus far have not established much rhythm on offense and are not scoring Touchdowns at their usual clip
I am going with the hot team .... remember pre-season we all had Hamilton very highly rated (super talented) and they are starting to show why

I think Montreal will lead from start to finish and Whittaker will get his 20-25 touches ...makes a big difference
I definitely could see Calgary winning, maybe its the OL problems but to me they just have not been consistent and flowing on offense quite yet
Also yet to record a home win 0-2
Hamilton is starting to pick it up so I am going with the hot team hopefully the road trip doesn't cool them off
(By Mosaic in my write-up I was giving credit to CGY's road win at Mosaic not meaning they play there LOL)
Calgary can definitely win this week...by 1...2....or 3 in clear unimpressive fashion

I cannot begin to tell you the winner of this game; and as much as I like BC and hate SASK I'm not getting burned by an 0-5 team at home.
However, under closer inspection this game is headed north of the total. Why? Neither of these defenses can stop anyone. Both allow 400 yards per game (BC 417, last, SASK 384) and both are dead last in passing touchdowns allowed, total touchdowns allowed and scoring defense.
On the other side, both offenses are very competent. Against bad defense, hopefully even more so. BC QB Lulay has shown the ability to move his team during the 1st 3 quarters but lacks the skill to make winning plays down the stretch. At his best, however, I'd rather have QB Durant making plays through the air and with his feet.
I am banking on both teams playing desperate in need of a win and really lighting up the scoreboard, turning this into a CFL shootout of old and putting lots and lots of points up.
BC 38 SASK 34

SASK/BC over 53.5

I have flipped sides about four or five times on this one and am actually leaning to WINNIPEG right now in the virtual Pick'Em game (+1 at home)
That defense......suffocating
Maybe that offense is moving the ball better than I give them credit for
Which means I have really no clue I will enjoy this game very much on the TV but I am sitting this one out
Maybe a halftime play after some action unfolds....
