The Als disgust me really. They should have, at least, covered that game last night. Boris Bede couldn't make a FG if his life depended on it right now. They threw a pick inside the 10 yard line as they were going in for the go ahead score. That pick was the TSN turning point for sure. At the end of the game they had an opportunity to get me a push with two cracks from inside the two yard line. Nope. Jim Popp isn't a very good head coach. Still 15 weeks left to try and turn a profit. We move on. Short turnaround this week. I will be back with a play for Thursday. Good luck this week guys!

The Bombers and Eskimos meet up for the second time this season as they square off tonight at Commonwealth. The Eskimos prevailed on July 14th in Winnipeg 20-16, barely covering as 3.5 point road favorites. That win has been the Eskimos only ATS win this season. They are laying 10 points tonight as they look to bounce back from an epic collapse last week against Hamilton.
Many times I would be looking to play the defending champs in a bounce back situation coming off the kind of loss they suffered last week, but there are a few reasons why I am fading them in this game this evening. That epic collapse that they suffered could potentially still be fresh in their minds as they are playing on only five days rest. Sometimes teams can still be hungover after losses like that, especially when playing an inferior opponent who they are supposed to walk over. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Esks come out of the gate tonight a little sluggish.
That Eskimos defense is really struggling. Last week marked the the second time they have coughed up double digit leads in the fourth quarter at home this season.
In week one against Ottawa, they kicked the go ahead field goal with just under a minute to play. On Ottawa's ensuing drive, this Eskimos defense allowed them to get down the field far enough to kick a game tying field goal. As good as the offense has been for this Edmonton team thus far, it was their defense that carried them to a Grey Cup championship last season, and they aren't nearly as stout on that side of the ball as they were a season ago.
The Eskimos could conceivably be a winless football team. They escaped a one win Saskatchewan team in overtime in week three. They needed a huge play to begin the fourth quarter in that game against Winnipeg earlier this month, a game in which they trailed for the majority of despite controlling the game for the most part.
I want to believe that the Bombers learned from that game against the Eskimos enough to make the proper adjustments for the game this week. They come into tonight with a new starting QB, former Eskimo Matt Nichols. I am hoping that the change at QB will provide this team with a spark that they so desperately need.
All in all, I just don't see how oddsmakers can instill the Eskimos as double digit favorites for the second time this season. It is also a little easier for me to pull the trigger on the Bombers knowing that Edmonton has a huge game next week at Ottawa. I will plug my nose and dive in with the big ugly dog tonight.
