Only three games this upcoming week....after home teams had been 2-10 ATS after the Friday game, Saturday saw them go 3-0.
After week 13 in past years, home favorites have tended to do better than the beginning of the year....until week 14, bettors in the CFL should look for any ol' reason to bet away dogs.
I took Edmonton to win the Grey Cup at 52-1...after sweeping the Stamps, they're a half game out of third place and a top 3 team in the CFL.....they play the Bombers in a home and home 2 games series starting in a couple of weeks. They'll have to get one to keep in the playoff picture and they could get a top two seed if they were to sweep Winnipeg. That will be the growing up games for the young Elks.
I give Edmonton a chance when they play the Bombers, as Zach C refuses to throw the ball down the field and he is now a bottom three quarterback in the CFL.
Calgary's experiment with their new quarterback went about as bad as Jake has been for the Stampeders....Matthew Schilz is really the only CFL-level quarterback on that roster and I would expect Calgary would go shopping for a qb in the off-season.....on your way to the market, get yourself a defensive coordinator. Have to wonder if Dickenson will lose his job. Either Vernon Adams or Rourke will be available on the open market, almost certainly it will be Adams, although Adams has been the better of the two quarterbacks for the Lions this season.
And what about Bo Levi?....until the last couple of games, he could not hit an open receiver beyond 20 yards in the last 2 or 3 seasons, but as it is a "what-have-you-done-for-me-lately?" league some team will inevitably want his services. Their backup is much better, but wonder if maybe he won't get the chance this year to prove it. When you're 3-9 and out of the playoffs, your team owes it to themselves to try a new quarterback out.

Chris Jones is now employed in his rightful position as a defensive coordinator....wonder how long that will last.
My view is the Roughriders, Tiger Cats and Stamps should and will get new guys....and if I were the Bombers I would do so as well, but highly unlikely as teams tend to hold onto qbs based on distant past performances.
Two home dogs this week....non-divisional home dogs tradtionally cover at a much higher rate than divisional home dogs in the CFL, but Calgary is so bad now and will be playing the league leaders off a loss that you could make the line Calgary +14 and I still wouldn't play it.
Lines
a). Lions pik 50 Argonauts......think the bubble has burst for Nathan Rourke and the Lions with him are severely overrated.
b) Stamps +10 52 Alouettes.....who will quarterback this week?....actually the Stamps have performed well as a home dog earlier this season.
c) Tiger Cats 6 50 Redblacks.....Tiger Cats have performed well as a home dog and the Redblacks on the road have nothing really to brag about, so if Ottawa exales they could lose this one.

a) A home non-divisional underdog after week 9 on at least a three game losing streak....18-9-2 ATS, 9-20 SU (-4.60).....Stamps
b) A home divisional underdog after week 9 with a winning percentage below 40% has gone 21-38 ATS (-2.6) and 11-49 straight up (-7.4).....VERSUS Tiger Cats
c) A home non-divisional favorite of less than 7 points in September off an away win.....1-12 ATS (-7.2), 5-8 straight up (-2.7)....VERSUS Lions

Edmonton/Winnipeg play each other in a home-and-home series starting next week....if Edmonton sweeps they more than likely will be tied for second place with a tiebreaker advantage over the Bombers....first time in awhile that the Elks/Eskimos have been relevant in a few years.
Indigo lines for next week
Edmonton -4 48 Winnipeg.....I see a bookmaker has posted an early line of Edmonton +3.....THAT is very wrong.
Toronto -5 51 Hamilton......Since Mr. Jones arrived the Tiger Cats are a completely different animal...Toronto with double revenge.
Ottawa -3 50 Montreal.....if Ottawa wins this game, and they more than likely will, they will go on to win the division...I rate Dru Brown as the top qb in the league and it is not particularly close.
Calgary -2' 50 Saskatchewan....I suppose one of these teams will have to win, finally

Lions pik 50 Argonauts......think the bubble has burst for Nathan Rourke and the Lions with him are severely overrated.
Wondering why you think the bubble has burst for Rourke and the Lions when they just beat the crap out of the best two teams in the east on back to back weeks? The Argos on the other hand were basically smoked by the Redblacks a weeks ago and prior to that dropped a game to the Tabbies.

Just not as impressed with Rourke as I was in his previous time in the CFL....his offensive line is not very good which hasn't helped and the Lions are turning it over a ton as well. He still can be the superstar and the face of the CFL with a better supporting cast.
They have by far the easiest schedule the rest of the way in the West of all the teams, so they should win the division.
