CFL RECORD TO DATE 1-1 +$200
I made a few bucks on the first game yesterday, there are two games on tap today on Canada Day, here are my selections:
494 Hamilton -8 -1.04 $312 to win $300-I'm not a favorite bettor, never have been and never will be but I think this game tonight warrants laying the points especially after seeing Montreal's struggles last night to close out British Columbia. The Ti-Cats of Hamilton have been doormats of this league for quite some time but this year have a team that may be able to challenge Montreal for the East supremacy. They have added RB Avon Cobourne from the Alouettes as their starter and have a very dynamic QB in Glenn and Hamilton also has one of the best offensive lines in the league. Winnipeg still has QB Buck Pierce but he is very prown to injury and if that happens he has nobody proven behind him to take over. I think this line is dropping due to Winnipeg's great trends over the years as underdogs but this is a new season and Hamilton is the much better team and this line opened up 9 1/2 for a reason, I'll lay the points here.
495 Toronto/Calgary Over 51 +1.01 $300 to win $303-Toronto last year struggled on offense behind QB Cleo Lemon but he came into camp lighter and clearly won the QB competition and will be the starter. I look for a much better season for Lemon as he begins really his second year as a starter behind center of the Argonauts. He'll be facing a Calgary team that lost both starting CB's from last year (Browner and Anderson) to free agency and that will have to hurt the Stampeders pass defense no matter who they are replaced with. Calgary meanwhile is still loaded offensively and will be taking on a Toronto team that displayed a bend but don't break defense last year and was really not that good and comes into tonight without a lot of major acquisitions on that side of the ball. The totals between these clubs last year was 47 and 48 1/2 yet the oddsmakers opened this one up at 53 but has been bet down, I like the Over here.
Best of luck to everyone tonight, have a great Canada Day everyone and enjoy the games.
