Last week I said that Edmonton/Saskatchewan is a series where dog was not only covering but also winning the games. That's exactly what happened, and it was no surprise to see that with a big lookahead situation for Saskatchewan. This week I am looking at Edmonton game again, but this time around I am going against them. Hamilton is much better than what we saw last week, and Edmonton, with so many new faces, will have their ups and downs early in the season. Hamilton/Edmonton series is tied 5-5 in last 10 and Hamilton has been competitive even when losing the games.
Trend of the game:
The winner of last 6 Saskatchewan/Edmonton games is 0-6 ATS the following week.

Hamilton is 0-1 but statistically they played the best defense of all CFL teams in week 1. Only 260 yards allowed, including 151 passing. Their defense had 1 interception, 1 fumble recovered, 5 sacks (top in the league). Edmonton defense looked like swiss cheese at times and if it wasn't for their offense that scored early and often, they would lose against Saskatchewan. Let's not forget that Saskatchewan was looking ahead to this week's game against Montreal. This is also an isolated out-of-conference game for Edmonton and those games are particularly dangerous for favorites looking for an identity, and for favorites after a win. Traditionally, Edmonton has been bad against Eastern Conference opponents if they faced a Western Conference opponent the previous week, with another divisional foe comming up next on the schedule.
Backing up my claims with actual numbers:
The Eskimos are 2-18 ATS in last 20 as faves after a win.
The Eskimos are 1-7 ATS in last 8 isolated non-conference games.
