CFL rules are designed to make special teams more exciting and significant. Unlike American football which is more routine and boring. In CFL punt or field goal attempts, a single point is awarded when receiving team is unable to take ball out of end zone.

Saskatchewan had chances to extend game to overtime but failed.

I agree that this rule is stupid. Its like giving point for OT loss in the NHL.
