What an IDIOT move putting BOTH of your playoff games opposite the 800LB gorila

You couldn't put one on Friday night when CFL fans expect a game ?? And then one Saturday afternoon when there is not much competition from the NHL ???


No no lets put 1 game on Sunday morning opposite 8 NFL games. Then the other right after when there are 4 more NFL games on.

Ya I thought that was poor judgment on the leagues part.  Why?  You are correct Sir.  Why play Sunday rather than Fri night and Sat.

Now having said that.  What is better for the teams at hand?  An extra days rest.  Ya probably.  

It's better for the teams, not the league, not us investors but I understand the reason.

CFL made a bad decision to expand the league this year... the money may  have been there in ottawa, but the talent pool is not big enough

both stadiums will be packed...league has a flat TV deal with TSN..so what difference?

When I think about it.  We get to invest in 2 great CFL games and then the NE @ IND game.  It's the only NFL game I wanted to watch anyways.  Works out nicely.

They did have issues selling some tickets actually. But the point is GROW THE LEAGUE and expand your product and show it to the largest audience possible.

And DOUCHER I'm hardly losing sleep over it. I didn't even watch/bet the early game. But I did think this was a forum for talking about sports and not somewhere that only wars and life are death are to be discussed. Thats why I come to places like this,to talk about the lighter side of life in a relaxed environment. We're not all as hard and battle tested as you soldier

The t.v deal is nothing special this is true,but I don't think that means they should just sweep the game under the rug either. You don't think they could have put the game on at a better time ??

Guys/Gals-It has nothing to do with rest as they could have played the ones the week before on  tHURS./fRIDAY VENUE or FRI./SAT  or SAT./SAT.

If you have noticed they do this EACH AND EVERY YEAR and have for eons. I once asked current CFL Commissioner Mark Cohon that very question a few years ago at a Ticats Platinum ticket holders dinner and his reply was basically, "That the CFL purists will prevail in watching our product over the NFL and that the extra broadcasting revenue sharing means less to us as a league for basically 4-5 games (playoffs) then diluting our product if we took the high road in NOT  competing with the NFL".

I felt like telling him to pull his arrogant head out of his own behind and get a reality check on how fans of BOTH could finally enjoy the best of BOTH leagues but politefully refrained.

Note: I enjoy thsee events and wanted to be invited back....
