Well guys picked up another max play win yesterday as Illinois took care of business against Rutgers. 1-0 day +$1,000 31-25-2 on the season +$2,020. Can you believe we are 2 weeks from Selection Sunday? I have another max play today and it is:
Elon -3.5 for $1,100
This game was rescheduled from a few weeks ago due to a Mumps outbreak amongst the JMU staff and players. This is also a major revenge/redemption spot for Elon when on January 18th they led JMU by 10 with 2 minutes left and the Dukes finished regulation on a 13-3 run and won the game in OT 85-75. They outscored Elon 32-11 in the last 7 minutes and held them without a bucket for 6 of those minutes. Coach Matheny of Elon said after the game "They jumped us at the start of the game the last few minutes and the OT session" 4 Dukes played 41 minutes. They outrebounded Elon by 9 and a 15-3 edge in 2nd chance points
As for tonight JMU comes in 9-21 {5-12 in CAA} losers of their last 2 off a 68-66 road loss to Delaware. JMU's freshmen scored 60 of the 66 points and the Dukes had a 13-5 edge in 2nd chance points. They were able to jump on Delaware after the Blue Hens were coming off the biggest choke in CBK history losing a 34 point lead to Drexel
Elon has lost their last 5 games{all by DD} including on the Official Senior Day Saturday losing 81-59 to Northeastern. Elon is 14-16 and 6-11 in the CAA. Coach Matheny had a good quote after the game saying: "We're making some traction....the problem is we made traction against Charleston and NE the 2 best teams in the league" Elon just could not over come NE going 81-5 from three in the 1H
Anyone who has followed JMU this year knows that what Coach Matheny said about "Jumping us" is accurate because they play in spurts. I know because i won an OT game with them earlier this year vs App State where they were jekyll and hyde throughout the game
Not only is this a revenge spot for Elon this also the last home game of the year and the last game ever at Alumni Hall because next year they move into their new building {If you get a chance go to google and see an artist' rendering of the new building" If Elon wins they will be the #7 seed in the CAA tournament and if they lose they will be the #9 seed. I like them to be the #7 seed and get revenge vs JMU
