Well guys not sure how many of you know your basketball history but back when Red Auerbach was the HC of the Celtics when they got up big Red would light a victory cigar. Well my wife{a cigar smoker herself} decided when TX was up 19 last night to do the same...i recommended she not....and we all saw TX blow that lead and only win by 4. 0-1 day -$1,100 7-7-1 on the year -$1,210
If i lose today's play bet sizes will be cut in half. My play today is:
Vanderbilt -3 for $770
36th all time meeting between these 2 in state foes and in LY's MTSU won 71-48{I know...because i had MTSU}
Into this season MTSU is off to a 5-1 start with their only loss being to Belmont{No shame in that} they beat FGCU their last time out 81-76 using 55% shooting in the 2H to pull away and they really dominated them on the glass with a 46-30 edge points in the paint A 42-28 edge on the glass and a 22-5 edge in 2nd chance points. They have 7 guys who average at least 5 PPG with the Bama transfer Nick King leading the way averaging 24 PPG and 7 boards
Vandy is 3-5 off an 84-79 loss to K-State at home despite Jeff Roberson's 22 point 10 rebound effort. The 'Dores couldn't overcome the 58% shooting of K-State or the 21-8 edge off turnovers. They overcame a 15 point 2H deficit to tie it with with 3.5 minutes left but K-State made 1 more run
For those of you who may be on Jeopardy some day or want to win a bar bet: The 3 point shot was put in college hoops across the board in 1986-87. Only 3 schools have made at least one 3 in every game since. Those teams are: Princeton, UNLV and Vanderbilt. Vandy has made 1 three in 1,007 straight games
MTSU wants to play in the low to mid 80's and Vandy wants to keep the game in the low to mid 70's.. I like the 'Dores to make a run late and win the game by 3 buckets
BOL guys Your thoughts are welcome
