NuSkool, any opinion on the Bradley-Mizzou St tourney game?
Hey NickleBet - My first reaction was why is this line so low? It opened -1 despite Missouri State sweeping Bradley in the regular season convincingly. And with this game being in St Louis, they should have the home crowd as well. The Bears also swept Loyola Chicago convincingly too which is a very tough thing to do. So again, I'm asking myself why is this line so low?
They're 2-3 over their last 5 and 6-4 in their last 10 while Bradley is 3-2 and 7-3 over the same periods. To note, Bradley and Missouri State both got swept by Drake this year. Bradley had 3 nice OOC wins (Jax State, SMU, Penn State) at the beginning of the year but then started 0-5 in conference play which was really odd. They improved a lot in conference since then but it's still hard to ignore their inconsistencies plus their 0-2 against the Bears already.
I think those looking to back Bradley today are going with a few factors - the line (in theory) should be higher, it's tough to beat the same team 3 times, and the key stats/metrics are about the same between the teams. On paper, they're extremely similar. There is some merit to those things, it's just hard to know which version of Bradley shows up today.
