5 Team Parlay

Yesterday was first post and well yes my picks were terrible.

Take this from experience I know you are betting like $20 bucks on this 5 teamer but the stars have to be aligned to hit them. I am not saying it happens but I have been gambling 15 years and I know you want the knockout punch and hit it for $400 but college bball is a long season. Hitting 3 teamers is no joke its why it makes up 8-10% of all the winnings for the sportsbooks each year and I heard 2 weeks ago they paid out 20  10 teamers for $32500 a piece and they still come out 8-10% ahead because people bet these small 5 teamers and up and never win. I always tell people if they do gamble small instead than do a 3 teamer and put $50 on each game and do a $50 3 teamer. If you win 2 of 3 you are out $5 bucks if you win all 3 you are up $450 and your chances of that are better than 6-1 because you have 3 straight up bets. If you go 1 out of 3 you are down $160 but you are playing 5 teamers now and expect to go 5-0. Do what you want but just some friendly advice. Most people I know that do parlays barely do straight up bets and waste $200 on all these small bet 4 teamer up parlays it makes no sense. LIke a 4 teamer bet $50 on all 5 and bet 2 $50 2 teamers. It doesnt sound sexy but your results will be better especially if you mix in straight up bets. Betting only parlays is fools gold. Its like slots you may hit 1 for $400 but you put in twice that to get it. On that 4 team bet you hit all 4 you are up 450 and your odds are at less than 2-1 considering that you can split and only lose $110. Just FYI

Thanks for that insite, You are correct and I may try a few of the smaller parlays, I play proline, I don't bet through a sportsbook or a Bookie so that is why i play parlays all the time. It is fun and I don't get in to much trouble knowing I can only bet what I pay for.
