Thursday Review: 3-0 Murray State - 11 (easy cover, won by 21) Morehead State -2 (easy cover, won by 13) Wofford -8 (easy cover, won by 15)
My Rules:
1) Never bet on games involving Tennessee VOLS, my team. 2) Don't bet on PAC-10 games, Georgetown or Notre Dame. 3) Take the Home Favorite vs the Ranked Team Road Dog. 4) Use Reverse Line Movement as a tool, but not as the only tool. 5) Don't put much stock in games with suspensions/injuries. 6) Keep the units the same and plays to no more than 3 a day.
Now lets see if there is anything good Friday...

Wright State -1 vs Butler - Ranked team on road getting points = take Wright State. Looking further in to it, Butler is 3-12 ATS in series last 15. Butler has only won once at Wright State in past 10 games in series, but it was last year. This is the first time in 10 games that Wright State is favored in the game. OVERALL - WSU slight shooting advantage, Butler slight Rebound advantage, WSU slight Defensive advantage. HOME/AWAY - WSU advantage in every category. LAST 5 - WSU advantage every except Rebounding. WSU is 3-1 ATS at home and Butler is 3-5 ATS Away

Hey Vols! Good calls yesterday. I'm from Indy and have seen Butler several times in person. This is a unique team in that they have 3 players that have to be considered 1st team in the Horizon league. Howard, Hayward & Mack. They are battle tested, veteran players who have won at the Nutter Center by 15 last year, and who beat Wright State three times last year. Teams that Butler have struggled with this year have an athletic post presence who can challenge Howard and get him in foul trouble since he is very foul prone. They also struggle with bigger athletic threes who can bother Hayward from shooting 3's and make him dribble drive. Mack is a handful any way you cut it. I don't know that Wright St. has inside athletes or a big 3 to bother Hayward??
So, all of this said, I don't know a ton about Wright St. other then they have 3 veteran guards who can shoot and as a team they play very good defense especially at home. Their home court advantage is one of the best in the country in my view.
Just wanted to throw out some basketball information. Obviously the gambling angles point to a Wright St. bet which I agree with you on.
This is a no play for me as of right now but I'm leaning Butler. Just my humble opinion. BOL!

oiler - Good info. Like you said at the end though, gambling angles point to WSU and that is what I want to be on the "right" side of! haha. Lets hope for that.
The other game like this is Wash at ASU, but my rule of not playing Pac-10 games is going to trump it. I've lost too much on that conference!

I've been getting caught of late playing the gambling angle or the set up angle and not paying attention enough to the fact that some teams are just better then others regardless of where they play or when and any of the situations that exist. S. Alab and LaSalle fit that bill yesterday, and Charlotte the day before. But then again, none of them were favorites playing against ranked teams at home:)

oiler - I agree the angle doesn't always work, that is why it's called gambling. I disagree with you on the Charlotte pick, that angle was to actually take Tennessee with a spread much bigger than expected with all the injuries, they were begging us to take Charlotte and 90% of us did on here. I broke my own rule and played it and lost, hate that! On S.Alab and LaSalle last night, those were right on the #, could have gone either way...that is the toughest thing betting basketball...can come down to the last possession, but that also makes it more exciting than football.
swizzol - that is some good popcorn.
tasco - thanks buddy!
lillefty - discipline is the key, following that discipline is hard though. I had thought about making rules for awhile, but after breaking my own rule this week I thought I needed to put them in writing!
PurduePride - I had a feeling he was going to be the one with the guns. My other feeling is Williams will be gone due to the weed. I haven't heard much about Goins, but I think Tatum will survive this fiasco. BTW, none of them are available for the Kansas game.

Taking Wright State off of my board. I like the home team favorite vs ranked visitor, but not when the line switches and now the ranked team is favored. Seems like the ranked team pulls that one off more times than not in that situation.
Another game I've seen no one talk about is LoyMd +9 at Fairfield. I don't have the balls to play it, but think LoyMd is a good value there.
