I'll take the Aggies in this one on the Monday night stage. Reed Arena will be packed tonight, and loud and crazy for this one. Obviously this is a rivalry game and the Aggies have already lost once to Texas. I seriously doubt they lose the season series to Texas on their home court. I don't think that Texas is much better than the Aggies honestly and I think with the home court advanage and the revenge factor they will win or at least cover the +2 spread. Texas has played a little better with Balbay as a starter but if they do that they are going to give up alot of size to the Aggies at all positions. Ether way really I think the Aggies will win the rebounding matchup and I think they have the advantage down low. All Texas really has is James and Abrams, whereas Atm has 5 good, but not great starters. Texas has also been a very average road team, going 4-4 on the road. Of those 4 wins the only one that is worth anything is Wisconsin...in my opinion at least. I don't care that they beat Colorado in OT, or that they blew out Texas Tech (I go to Tech and we are terrible). They did beat baylor so maybe that should count for something too....but whatever. It should also be mentioned that this group has never beaten the Aggies in their hometown, so there could be a psychological factor playing a role as well. Also, ATM in general as home underdogs is always a good play ATS. ATM is also pretty desperate for a win here, there backs are really against the wall if they wanna make the tourny.
So we have a size advantage at almost every position, A BIG homecourt advantage(magnified by the fact that Texas is just an average to below average road team), A revenge factor, A rivalry game, and a desperation factor. Thats pretty much why I like the Aggies. I don't care that they have lost 3 in a row, if anything....I'm glad because it just means there practices have been that much harder and they'll be even more focused.
ATM+2
I'm looking forward to hearing some quality arguments.
