i got $1,000 on miami to win it all at 60 to 1. any hedge advice for my now scared arse?
I don't see any way this can get resolved without devilplayer and whether or not this is a double down or a triple down spot
Also, nothing to hedge here since Miami is not in the final yet...if they get to the championship game then we can talk numbers

depends on how much disposable betting money u have at your fingers. bet as much as u can on uconn for championship odds at -125, as they will not lose to fau or sdst and will prob be a 4-6pt fav with similar moneyline odds to what its at now. Id drop around enough to win 20 grand or so. or u can eat the juice and go with uconn ml -240 for this game and put like 24k to win 10k. not sure who would take that action except an in person casino though.

ALWAYS HEDGE!

**unless YOU are very well documented as a consistent winner at picking games year after year in this sport....then the analytics prove that one should not hedge.

Ahhh, the old, "I thought I was throwing away 1k on a longshot bet with 60-1 odds and was content with it, but now that it's a couple games from cashing I want to put a lot more money into extra bets turning my 60-1 into an even money bet just to make sure I walk away with a little profit."

Your way is the way to go. Bet 2400/1000 on UCONN ML, UCONN wins you break even. It's over!
If Miami wins you're stuck $3400.
Right now, if Miami plays FAU It's Miami -2.5 bet FAU +ML for whatever, $10,000?
Right now if Miami Plays SDSU it's a pick. Bet SDSU ML for whatever, $10,000?
I think he's in a good spot, maybe I'm wrong. That's all I have to say about that.

Congrats on making it this far. I have a future on Miami as well but for +2000 so my strategy is a little different but if I were in your position I would take Uconn ML for 5k if you have the ability to do so. I would also look for another live betting opportunity on Uconn at + money if Miami gets the lead. Limits are a little tougher for live in game bets but you can get creative with 2H lines if you see Uconn as a short 2H favorite and the game is close at half. The dream scenario would be Connecticut as say a -150-160 favorite with a 2H line of -4 and they are down by 1-3 points so that they win the 2H but not the game.
If the UCONN ML juice against Miami doesn't appeal to you, I would also think about taking UCONN to win it all at -120 right now. If they do beat Miami, they'll be a substantial favorite over FAU or SDSU. Nothing is ever a lock but Uconn losing to either of those teams is very unlikely.
For what it's worth, I like Miami in this spot. My plan is try to 'hedge' with Uconn by taking the over on their team total. I think even if Miami wins both teams score in the low to mid 80's. Obviously some risk there which I wouldn't do with 60K on the line but that's how I've handicapped the game for my ticket.

just bet UConn to win it all at like -135 or so b/c one of those 2 teams will win it all
