1st play:

Gonzaga -3 (2U)

I’ve watched plenty of Zags ball and we know that historically they’re tough to beat. They don’t lose games easily to high scoring one dimensional teams. They generally struggle against  teams that plays defense and have 1/2 court offensive sets that plays efficient ball...similar to LY Michigan game w/ Simpson dishing 13 assist or Texas Tech a couple years back in the tourney, etc.  I think they’re even tougher to beat now because of Suggs of his strong capability as offensive and defensive player. Defensively he can lock down that central “guard position” the makes an offense operate. 

Although Iowa has Garza (he’ll definitely do his thing) they don’t have a point guard that can truly distribute the rock, has a wide vision of the floor, or defend against explosive guard in Suggs. I honestly think we’ll see Iowa’s one dimensional offense struggle with this Zags D. Suggs and Ayayi are pretty good 1-2 defenders that can play that passing lane and anticipate a play. I think we’ll see them do a good job taking away some Iowa passes along with pushing the ball down and attacking quickly. Point of turnovers will be key for Gonzaga!

Zags win by 9+

They are about to play a BIG10 team that plays in the half court year after year. Zags about to get spread out...

Famous last words...

Last year, this very similar Gonzaga team played a scrimmage with top ranked B10/Michigan State...MSU lost that game 103-87.

POW: Kentucky +3 (8U)

Maybe I’m wrong, but something about 2H of that ND game finally clicked for this UK team...if you didn’t watch, they were down by as much as 24 and came back to almost win. Team is young, but there so much heart & potential on how good they can be.

On the flip side North Carolina has size, but their bigs can get  lackadaisical inside - slow to react, lacks communication, stands around. UK’s athleticism and drive will expose this soft NC defense!

Going with the better defense and the team that shows heart. Tar Heels makes the perfect team for UK to feast on. Pretty confident that they can win this game SU.

No play. Feel pretty apprehensive taking +10. Def a tough spot for any Big West team to play b2b Pac12 opponents.

Cal Poly Pomona +15 (1U)

Line has me a little stump. Stretching  this, I have it closer to maybe 12? Who knows, I’ve been wrong plenty. LMU has played both UCSB and UCI...going 2-1 and winning the 2 games by a margin of about 4-5 points.

(I think on a neutral floor, Cal Poly would prob closer to a 7 point dog to both UCSB and UCI)

Cal Poly is pretty good team defensively this year. Aside from losing to a high powered offensive SF team, they’ve pretty much kept games close with their Defense.

Cal Poly SLO has a few good guards that can defend and rebound...really like the new kid Bradley Stevenson. Been ice cold shooting, but really like his ceiling.

Note: LMU has pretty much the same position setup...4 guard/ 1 Big....Don’t see an really big advantage the paint.

Putting a small unit play just because I’m a Big West homer...Lmao.
