I'm asking a legitimate question for those that have followed louisville this year. I've watched this syracuse team multiple times this year and the only times ive seen them struggle with fab melo as a starter is when they were zoned. They have shooters but most of their players are better off the bounce, and for whatever reason even though they practice vs. the 2-3 zone every day, they have struggled offensively against it.
So louisville faithful, does pitino implement a zone defense often?

Yes they use a standard and sometimes similar zone to what Cuse uses. Also, like any Pitino team, they also like to use the full press which has given Cuse fits when playing in Louisville. Louisville lives and dies by the 3. they'll get plenty of looks from 3 and its just a matter of them nailing them. I like Louisville tonight. Theyve finally pretty healthy and have covered 6 straight and should be ranked higher. GL

Syracuse is Overrated. They look a little bored too. Road game against a rival in a quick turnaround from Saturday too. Lousiville has won 7 in a row against Syracuse. They beat them twice in 2009-10 when they were ranked 2 and 1. I think it may have something to do with the coaches in this one. Remember the 1996 Finals? Boeheim is terrified of Pitino!! Louisville and Kansas big for me tonight.

I have never seen Louisville in a 2-3 zone, how can you say its similar to Syracuse???
They play an NBA style zone, press the ball handler and switch switch switch. They switch on cuts, back door screens, pick and rolls, they switch that's their d. And ya they press, but I didn't see them press a lot in the pre-conference schedule. I'll be honest I haven't paid any attention to them in conference, because they were so shitty prior.
I guess they are healthy now, and their D is pretty strong, but their O can be painful if the 3's arent going down. We'll see, prior years, LVille had guys who broke 'Cuse down on the perimeter, penetrated the interior and dished for open 3's. Or they pulled up mid range, drew the C-F out, and crashed the boards. You had guys like Terrence Williams crashing the boards against Andy Rautins. Not this year, this year Syracuse has all the black athletes. Don't believe me? Watch syracuse in the open floor, see if you think there is a more athletic team in the country.

This UL team does not come close to the 3-pt shooting that 96 Ky team had....UL will need the 3-pt shooting tonight to beat Cuse....good luck with that.

Zoot, JRock. You guys are morons. I wasn't comparing the Louisiville team to the 96 Kentucky team. You guys are quick to knock someone who offers different analysis than you. I won my Louisville bet. Keep betting on Syracuse losers.
