ETSU Point Shaving

So this line opens at -24.5, and tumbles to 20 in a matter of minutes it seemed so I thought hmm, I'm gonna keep my eye on this game (closed at 20.5 I think). Best team in the SoCon, undefeated vs by far the worst - VMI one of worst teams in country, and at home. I asked myself what possibly could cause someone to lay the sort of $ on VMI to move this line FOUR pts out of nowhere. So I watched it, ETSU jumps out very strong, 29-9 playing very good defense, then something maybe not so peculiar happened. A few of their players literally stopped playing any defense whatsoever. And by that I mean they were seemingly blowing assignments on purpose and giving up layups - which is something that is the opposite of their aggressive defensive calling card.  They ended up winning 85-82.  This game should sound the alarms to any gambler. Just wish I had followed up on my instinct.

This happens all the time. The only people that notice the numbers are gamblers. The thought that games aren’t being manipulated is laughable. Not every game, but the one above is a prime example. 

I felt the same way! Thought I was tripping out watching that. Their so dominate & they just let up. Couldn’t believe. I agree, I think they did took their foot off the gas on purpose.
