-Of the two huge spread games, Cornell is more likely than FAU to cover the number. Louisville plays in spurts and is prone to allowing lesser teams to make runs. Duke should put up 100 tonight.
-Brian Gregory is quietly building this Georgia Tech team into a contender. The Jackets have size at every spot on the floor, and the addition of Tennessee transfer PG Trae Golden solves last year's biggest weakness. Miller returns to man the middle of the paint, and the wings have tremendous length and athleticism. Even with home court, this is a tough matchup for a Georgia team that will struggle at times to put the ball in the hoop.
-South Florida and Bowling Green should be just awful to watch. Two putrid offenses and a grinddddding pace.
-Cleveland State and UT-Arlington might be entertaining. CSU has some brutal travel after a late tip-off in San Fran on Wednesday night, but Waters finally has a healthy team after last year's slew of injuries. UTA plays a tricky style, and I'll be curious to see how they deal with the Vikings' on-ball pressure.
-I really want to play Columbia first half against Michigan State. Sparty is often sluggish out of the gates at home against inferior competition, a tendency which will probably be magnified by the hangover from the Kentucky game. This is a strong lean.
-Oakland/Cal will be super fast. Montgomery has a particularly athletic team this year and they'll likely welcome the opportunity to run with Oakland. The Grizz haven't shot the ball well yet this season, but I have to assume that begins to correct itself soon considering all of the offensive talent on this team. Possible play on the over if the number is around 160.
-San Jose State is an auto play. Milwaukee won outright as a DD dog early in the week and now lays 7 on a neutral a few days later. Spartans are bad, but I'll play this spot 9/10 times.
-Only reason I'm not on Western Carolina is the travel. Brutal spot playing late night in Eugene and now flying back across the country to meet Virginia Tech. Cattamounts can realllly score the ball. Tons of offensive talent. Interior defense is again putrid.
-Murray/ODU is a pure toss-up. Racers' pressing style could be an issue for the Monarchs' ball-handlers. I'll take the 8.5 in a tease and hope for a back-and-forth affair.
-Ditto with Elon and Charlotte. Interesting battle with the Elon shooters against the size and grit of Charlotte. Should be tight the whole way.
-I hate this UNLV team but they get a dream matchup tonight against the fastest team in the country, Nebraska-Omaha. The Rebs have as much athleticism as any team in the country but look like dogshit when forced into halfcourt sets. That won't happen tonight and they'll have a plethora of opportunities to get out in the open court and score the ball. Motivation should be there as they were literally booed off the floor a few nights ago against UCSB.
-Arizona State should wipe the floor with Idaho State. Should put up 85-90. Can the Bengals put the ball in the hoop enough times to get this thing over 150 ish? Maybe. Curious to see where this number comes out.
11/15 Card Georgia Tech ML -120 San Jose State +7 UNLV -13.5 Elon +8.5/Murray St. +8.5 Leans: Columbia 1H +13.5, Oakland/Cal Over (160?)

I am looking at FH's and Louisville has started very slow and Cornell started quickly, so maybe a Cornell + FH, and Cal has gotten out quickly in their games, with Oakland not so much in theirs, so looking at Cal - in the FH, depending on the numbers. Your thoughts? Thanks for all your time.

Again, with your comments on Western Carolina, even with travel, they love to come out quickly, and will put early points on the board. Virginia Tech has been a slow starter in games thus far, so I will play WCU FH + the points.

I think the Spartans are locked in this year. Strong senior leadership, Izzo knows this might be his last chance at #2....I think they roll. P.s. I'm a huge Spartan homer....lol

Thoughts on St. Joes vs. Creighton tomorrow? What do you think the line will be? Martelli's comments on guarding McDermott have been pretty funny this week.

Jfen31 - Looking at little closer at the UNLV-UNO game, I think 13.5, now 14 is too much for UNLV to handle. Definitely would take 1H UNO +8...maybe UNLV comes back late in the game to cover. GL

JFen, been reading your astute analysis for two years. I really appreciate the heavy lifting you do. I am a hoops junkie, but have a brutal job so don't have time to access all the info I'd like. THANKS!!
Any thoughts on Saturday slate..?
