I know many of you are going to have a tough time backing a 2-14 team here but listen up. Canisius is bad, I'm aware but don't expect them to lay a complete egg at home tonight. This rivalry is HUGE and I expect Canisius to be fired up and to play with emotion. Beating Niagara tonight will plain and simple make the Griffs season (not saying that will happen). Niagara will not be as into this game as Canisius will be. I can see Niagara taking this game as a pit stop on there way to Marist on Monday.
An emotion filled gym and a history of tight games, not to mention a chance to stun all of Upstate New York and a 13 point head start has me taking Canisius tonight.
Iona-3
Man. This Fairfield team has lived on the road! That being said, they have faired pretty well on the road thus far. When you are playing your 6th roadie in your last 7 games it is bound to catch up to you. I expect this to happen tonight, as a battle tested Iona squad looks to finish there 3 game homestand with a 2-1 mark. Iona has held opponents to 36.6% percent shooting at home. Iona will have the advantage on the boards, which will lead to plenty second chance opportunities. The last factor may be one that is overlooked but one I feel is very crucial. This Iona team has traveled to North Carolina, Louisville, and Vanderbilt in their out of conference schedule. These experiences can definitely be beneficial as they head down the grind that is Conference play.
