Fairfield vs Old Dominion Under 118
This was the only game I could honestly say I felt very comfortable playing on friday's card. This line is very low but with very good reason so I could not ignore this play. Im going to first breakdown Old Dominion. Odu scored 52 against Kentucky and held them to 62. On the season they have shot 39% from the field 27.5% from Three point line and 63.7% free throw. The Odu bench combines for 72 minutes per game on average from 6 players but only averages 14.1 ppg so there is absolutely no spark off the bench for so many minutes played. 1 player on Odu has a free throw percentage over 68%. Odu has the 220th ranked offense 30th ranked defense 302nd most possessions per game.
Vermont the 168th ranked offense (one ahead of fairfield) scored 60 points in regulation against Odu but the only difference is there defense is not nearly as good as the one fairfield has and the total at regulation was 118. Odu has played 6 top 168th ranked offenses, 4 teams have defenses below fairfields defensive rank of 55 which ended in totals of 143, 134 OT, 128 OT and 128. The two teams that have been defensively ranked higher then Fairfield Kentucky and Northern Iowa ended in 114 and 109. Now for the Fairfield side of it. Fairfield has 169th ranked offense 55th ranked defense and average the 226th most possessions per game.
Fairfield shoots 46% from field 31.1% from 3 and 59.6% free throw
Fairfield will play right into the slow style of play during this game and have had multiple low scoring games against much faster and better offenses such as Arizona State, Holy Cross, Canisius and a very good Dayton team. Fairfield Bench averages Combined 57 minutes per game but a poor 16.7 ppg off the bench. Those stats will be backed up by two teams who are both big, physical and match up great to one another, who understand the importance of this game and the under plays right into there styles of play.
