The past 10 years the spread has not mattered in the Championship Game:

2000 Mich. St.(-4) 89 Florida 76

2001 Duke (+4) 82 Arizona 72

2002 Maryland (-7.5) 64 Indiana 52

2003 Syracuse (+5.5) 71 Kansas 78

2004 UConn (-5) 82 GTech 73

2005 UNC (-2) 75 Illinois 70

2006 Florida (-1) 73 UCLA 57

2007 Florida (-4) 84 Ohio St.75

2008 Kansas (+2) 75 Memphis 68

2009 UNC (-7.5) 89 Mich. St. 72

What he means is..........whoever you think will win the game will cover the spread..............including the favorite in the past 10 championship games.

Except that most of those spreads were very low and 3 of those games were decided by 7 or fewer.  And besides, talk about a tiny sample size.  If you've ever watched CBB, you know that the spread can matter.  Heard the same argument several years ago about the SB...and then the spread proceeded to matter in 3 of 6 years.

Would not surprise me at all to see Duke win but not cover.  Got Butler at +8 (with half bought back -7.5+).

What I notice is that teasing the loser rarely helped at all (twice?). Blowouts are more common. Maybe we have a trend busting game, who knows.

Duke struggling to find a rhythm on offense...they need to drive it in and get to the line...Nolan Smith not playing that great..nor is Scheyer...Singler doing well

well, read it better because the favorite has not covered in every single game.
