Houston has looked great so far ILL barely got bye first round so why wouldn't i lay the 4.5 with Houston for better odds well i will tell you why Michigan's result yesterday over Tennessee makes me feel like ILL watched that game and it gave them a little more confidence that the big 10 is the real deal. Ok now after saying that i can not see how ILL will score on Houston second i can not see how they will stop Houston from scoring i see a wire to wire win for Houston winning by double digits but this tourney has been any thing but predictable so i will lay the juice and just hope for the ML win with very little stress.

Yes I think the line is too high. And I think people saw Illinois against utc and still have the memory of the Chicago Loyola game.
Houston has played an exceptionally weak schedule all year. Losing to Wiscy, bama and going 1-2 against Memphis (1-4 against tourny teams). Not sure they are the better team in this game. Was very surprised to see the line this high. Certainly Illini have their issues and I really hate how the players and coaches complain all game about everything but I think they are actually the better team who has certainly played much better competition all year. Just my thoughts.
I am buying Illini up to +5 -120 and playing that with a small amount on the ml as well just bc I think this game is closer to a pick ‘em line personally

Copy that, so your saying houston-4.5 line is too high, should be closer to a pickem.
I couldn't disagree with you more, which is on we all do things differently. That's what this site should be about comparing notes not trashing each other's picks. I see line as discounted as I have it capped at Houston-7.
So far early in the day I see a small public lean on Houston which doesn't add up to a shirt Houston line.
Somehow we're ending with the same pick as I'm leaning with Illinois, however I've been very impressed with Houston this year and all they do is cover whereas illini have been very unpredictable.
Best of luck on your plays

Money coming in on ILL down too 3.5 but in my opinion thats a reaction to what Michigan did too Tennessee yesterday people going to think the Big 10 are great again

If Ill hadn't played such a lousy game they would and should actually be favored here. You're walking right into a trap. Ill wins a close one today. Houston doesn't match up well against this team, and The big 10 is the real deal.

Kofi will be the biggest player on the floor and one of the biggest strongest Houston has played against all season. Houston used to poor perimeter D but Illy can guard the arch. We will see how they fare on one of the toughest matches they've seen all season

Illinois played a much better team. Will Houston hit all those three again at the beginning of the game. Tough one, love energy and attitude of Houston to go with their athletic ability. Many were calling for the Illini to lose SU before their first round game started. If Cofi gets in foul trouble it is over Houston covers. I don't get why the Illinois guards hide in big games. They are good shooters and can drive but don't seem to have confidence. I think the Cougars pressure gets it done as Illini have backcourt issues. I also don't think Houston shoots the lights out from three early but if they do they win by a comfortable margin. Memphis was crushed by Houston in the conference championship and destroyed UAB in the first 8 minutes that game was over. Plus Houston can throw more bodies at a team. If Sasser didn't go down I would have picked them to win it all. Good Luck with your bets

Houston doesn't have the coaching to go much farther in this tournament. Its been 3 city for them but what happens when they are not 60per from 3? Well watch the Match-up vs Memphis, the one just a few weeks before conf championship.
Those kids got slayed

but the week after when it counted They crushed Memphis. Houston had already won the league but in the title game they were the slayer. Completely different stakes

One final thing SMU should have made the tournament. We all saw Memphis late night. Houston being a 5 seed is messed up. Kenpom is pretty neutral. And there is a reason they are so high. Kofi is playing well but can he do it for 40 minutes. Houston is dominating the boards and turning Illini over.
