I have turned small deposits into good amounts and each time I reach a good amount I bet a stupid game and it goes against me. This makes like the 6th time in the last 3-4 months I have done this. I have stress on me due to a car wreck....Here is my dumb bet. It was between St Louis and Loyola Chicago ML...I took the higher conference and UT Martin are playing like the Golden State Warriors

well it's over...lost 82-76...two things were pretty big in losing this. St Louis was down 15 just before half and cut it to 7 with 2 free throws. Then they allow a 3 to be hit with very little time left, then another 3 as the first half ends, so from 7 to 13 in less than 5 seconds. Then they allow a run at the first of the 2nd half to push the halftime lead from 13 to 23 at 56-33. Maybe if they didn't have to come back from so much they may have won. But they didn't so I move on....

I hear ya-- had a monster week last week, now the tide has turned, and I tdid tonite what I know better to do- chase a night;s loss- not down a lot for week, so I know I can rebound- but tried to break even on night - so what do I do, go ahead and play S. Utah+. 12 first half vs. St. Mary's and getting smoked. No idea why St. Mary's isn't ranked. They smoke everyone.

betting 1700$ to win 300$ is just plain stupid,  even when you win the reward is not worth the risk, in sports anything can happen.  Learn not to bet big ml like that.

I know, but I turned a little over $100 into $1,700+ in a little over 3 days doing the same thing. As I said, I am an idiot. Not disputing that. :\

Jarrett, You're playing low risks bets but it only takes one.
If you would have continued your streak you may have worked that total up to 5k but if you're always laying the total winning eventually one of the games will bite you.
I've turned 300 into 8k but lost most of it because of this.
Cashing out is the trickiest part of this, knowing when to take your winnings.

trick is this.........once you've turned that 100 into 1700 or 2000 or 2500.......  stop. Then start over betting only 100. Don't lay your entire bankroll on a single play. Don't fret, we've all done this. The important thing here is to LEARN a lesson from your mistakes. You've done this several times in the past..SO the next time you get to that point, pretend like you have just 100 in your account. Youll be amazed how this simple tactic will pay off HUGE long term. Instead of going bust when you hit 2000 , you'll experience a little blip of perhaps a few 100 wager losses, then another streak will hit and then you'll be at 4000 et etc. this is what I call staying in the game........you need money to play and going all in is just way too risky.

I've said this a MILLION times in every forum on this site. Bettors don't lose because they can't pick winners....THEY LOSE BECAUSE THEY BET TOO MUCH PER GAME.

BOL next time man. That's why I don't do such stupid bet with stupid payouts. I mean I understand the security of it all but anything can happen in sports. Take Warriors for example. If you were on that 24 win streak would you have went all in vs Bucks? Probably considering Bucks are a below .500 team and it was only logical that they'd pull enough off to end the road trip on a high note. Load and behold, they lost. Same goes for any teams like the Pats losing to the Eagles the other day or the Packers losing on Thanksgiving to Bears. Same thing applies to NCAAB.

I did it again...I was going to take Stanford in the Rose bowl, then everyone was posting Iowa and the line dropped a point and a half. So I took this gem after looking into it. Seemed like South Dakota was a mismatch for IUPUI but of course not.

uh huh I turned $50 into $1990. I planned on taking the $2,000 out and playing with house money. If I had taken Stanford like I was going to I would have been golden. But allowed others taking Iowa to talk me out of it. Yeah I made a dumb bet, but made a lot of smart ones to turn a small amount into right at 2k.
