Wow, that's all I can say. I will also say that people who bet large on this game and lost shouldn't be upset on the people who picked this game as a "lock" (not that there is such a thing). I have watched 2 UIC games online (video). I have also watched every ISU game including exhibition. I have done the research on each teams oponent and their oponents. Every person on the roster etc. etc..
I started betting this year with 5 or 10 dollar bets doing ok not great, but I would find crazy lines that are way off. I would put 50 maybe 100 dollars and win easy money every time. I started sharing my thoughts on this forum.. ISU over Drake, CMU over UIC... all easy 20+ victories. Then this line comes. First of all yes I know I am a fan and I am "biased" but -5.5 on ISU? Way too good to be true. So technically I was 6-0 on my "lock" bets that I would throw more than 5-10 at. The most I ever put on a game was 250. I was tired of missing out on real money as the team I picked as a "lock" was winning by 20+ every game. So I decided to put 2500 on ISU after never betting more than 250...
It should have been an easy win but we couldn't hit a shot after starting the season 55% from the field 40% from 3. That would of been ok but UIC couldn't miss a shot after shooting cold to start the season. That still would of been OK if that grey haired ref that called 11-2 fouls UIC to ISU wasn't throwing the game that let our defense play scared. Yes these are excuses, yes this was the worst case scenerio.
Here is my point, and this is why this forum is so pointless. We bash people for putting out all the stops and saying this is a "guarenteed winner" after I went 6-0 on my "lock bets" I was more confident on this play then any of the previous six games. If you actually did your research you would discover this was as close as you could possibly come to a "lock" as humanly possible . What I realized is there is nothing to be gained from posting suggestions or your picks since there are so many variables in any game. It doesn't matter how long you have posted or how much you know about sports betting. This was a game that any smart gambler would make a huge play on if they knew all the facts. The previous facts didn't matter and the spread wasn't covered.
I can probably laugh at this experience as a lesson learned. You have to figure that after going 6-0 easily on "gauranteed wins" the one game I actually put real money on didn't hit. Sorry for jinxing everyone. I think this would be a good time to close my accounts. There is just too many variables to make money and its too tempting to play passive. Just don't blame anyone for suggesting this game as a major play, you can still do the research on this game, this play was shiney as gold...

Iam not sure if you lost everything on this game but why the fuck would you put $2500 on a game when you only have wagered $250 never going any higher then that?

Well put buddy!! I'd make this bet again in a heartbeat!! ISU wins by DD 9 times out of 10 but you can't beat a ref that has his own agenda!! I also heard that Lloyd Philips was brutal as per usual. All he thinks about is "me me me" shoots first passes second. He will ultimately hurt the chances of this team IMO.

Jesus. The initials ISU/UIC make me sick. That game was a fucking killer.
I'm with you though, buddy, I put my biggest bet of the year on it. I'm an avid college bball fan and die hard Xavier fan, so I follow teams like Butler, Gonzaga, Memphis pretty closely. I knew that UIC was supposed to be HORRID in the Horizon this year and have always known that ISU is a good basketball school.
But you're right- way too many variables. There are great cappers in here, but no one play will EVER be a lock. That's the fun of it. That's the rush we all look for. At the end of the day, you gotta just keep your head up and realize that there is more important shit to life.
I'm gonna take a day or two off and then you and I are going to kill it starting on Turkey Day.

Don't Play What You Can't afford to lose,#1.I never understood why people call games locks! At best, maybe it will be a strong play due to stats, injuries, coaching, refs, etc.Did you just see all of the variables that have to align for any given play to be successful. How many times have you seen a team favored by 8 and they are winning by 10 and the other team throws a 3 pointer up with time running out to lose by 7?When I played high shool basketball in Texas,we never lost a district game in 10 years. We played a team that we should have been favored by 40 and we only won by 2 points but then when we played them again the score was 98 to 38.Take a break, learn from your mistakes of going all out and remember, this is a marathon not a sprint. If you try to get money that you lost or could have won more on,you will only lose more than you win.
