Illinois vs Purdue fishy line?

This line appears to be way off. Illinois is ranked 11th and they have a deep team. Illinois has a RPI of 13 while Purdue has a RPI of 168. The only reason I can find for the line to be so small is the domination Purdue has carried against Illinois the last 9 games. 7-2. 2-0 last year. 3-1 at home vs Illinois. Any insight on this game would be appreciated.

I am on Illinois as well, but a few things I see are that Purdue is a better rebounding team and a better defensive team. They are at home, which is huge in the big ten (even though students aren't back on campus yet).

Yeah I might just use this game to see what Vegas is trying to do at the beginning of conference play. Illinois on paper is much much better. So we'll see tonight.

Take a look at who Illinois has on deck this weekend.  They're probably not as focused on this game as they should be and oddsmakers know it.  That's whats up with the line.

All due respect JWarner1313.........Those stats that you spoke of regarding + 8.5 rebounds, were against teams like Ball St, William & Mary, Lamar etc. Illinois is one very giant step up in class. This Illinois team has some big wins on their resume. I dont see Purdue staying close in this game. Illinois BIG for me. Good luck either way. Cheers 

Wouldn't that make them more focused?  I mean they know they have tough games coming up so they gotta notch wins when winnable games are there for the taking.  If they can't beat Purdue then they probably can't win enough B10 games to even make the tourney.  Is Purdue the worst team in the B10?  Might be.

Jacking up treys and high flying play works great at home, but not on the road in the Big 10.  Illinois just got worked inside....and they have no inside game.  Lousy style for success in the Big 10...especially on the road.  

I have learned that if a line looks too easy, hit it anyways. More times than not, it works out for me. All that is is knowing your game. That is, if you actually DO know the teams. Be honest with yourself. If you feel you have a good knowledge of the matchups, hammer it.
