that the UCONN winning streak is compared to Wooden's 88 game winning streak. It's like comparing apples and oranges. ESPN is overplaying this to the extreme.

why shouldn&#x27;t it count just as much? They aren&#x27;t playing midgets. They are playing ladies of their equal and have played all comers. They haven&#x27;t dodged anyone. If they played some how lesser competition then I would agree. A case could be made that UCLA&#x27;s is tainted somewhat, they never played some of the top programs because the NCAA tourney was limited to conference tourney winners. You guys talking about it not being equal are just showing a sexist attitude.

you cannot compare an inferior division of collegiate athletics(womens college basketball) accomplishments to that of their superior(mens basketball) its like saying an FCS football team won 30 games in a row, and surpasses lets say USC record of 29, and that now this FCS team owns the record for most collegiate football wins in a row, bc they are not within the same division. this example shows that it has nothing to do with the gender of the two teams being compared. rather, it shows that you simply cannot compare the two bc they are not in the same competitive division. what the fuck dont people understand about this concept?

Basically, its just not as hard to do on the womens side. Not even close really. So UCONN has 5-10 of the top college girls in the world and some other schools have 1 of those players.....its not that hard to do .....

Then why has it never been done? Also, why are we comparing women to men in terms of athletics anyway? In the sport they play and the competition they face they have done something no other program or team has ever done. That is why it is news worthy and deserving of attention. I feel like I'm beating a dead horse here so I will be done. To the UCONN Huskies I congratulate you on an amazing accomplishment. I would rather hear about an 89 game winning streak then if Brett Favre is going to play Sunday.

By the way, before his death, John Wooden said the women's game most reflected how basketball was meant to be played at its purest form. He also stated that for this reason he hoped a women's team would get 89 wins in a row. Enough from me. Have a great day and good luck today.
