Evansville has been one of the best underdogs in the league the last couple of seasons and they are catching Canisius after an amazing overtime win in a game in which they trailed by 17 at the half. Canisius top 2 scorers in that game played their season high in minutes. They lost last 4 after winning in overtime. MAAC teams are 59-80 ATS when favored by 8 or less in non conference games.
Loyola Maryland +3.5
East Carolina beat a good road ATS team Rider, and now they host another good road ATS team, Loyola Maryland. Loyola is 48-24-2 ATS in last 74 true road games. Loyola and Rider are both coming from MAAC and they had same conference records and split two meetings this season. That is why we have the same line attached to ECU in both those games. But if they handled Rider relatively easy three days ago, why are they not favored by more than 4 today ? The main reason is in the difference between Loyola and Rider experience. Rider was relatively inexperienced this season having lost several key players from last season and they played their last tournament game two years ago. Loyola played in the NCAA tournament last season and they have almost everyone back from that team. ECU reached three milestones in their wins over Rider and Savannah State: first they won their first Division I postseason game ever, and then they reached 20 wins for the first time in 60 years and won their 15th home game for the first time ever. They came from behind against Savannah State to win by 1 and led Rider by only 1 in the 2nd half despite a big early lead. Then Rider completely collapsed probably because of their inexperience. Loyola played some good teams on the road this season (Washington, Memphis and yes, Florida Gulf Coast). They were down by only 1 with 11 minutes left at Memphis. Loyola reached some milestones this season as well. This is the first Loyola team that is participating in two consecutive Division I postseason tournaments. Loyola defensive field goal percentage against Kent was their best ever, and for Kent State it was a worst offensive performance since 2001.
Alabama ML -180
Seth Allen, freshman guard for Maryland is out. He scored dd pts in the last 4 of 5 games and 15,13 pts in the first 2 NIT games. Big loss going up against Alabama at home, where they have won 8 straight home games in this event. They are also 16-3 at home this season, having won the last 12 in a row.

The Braves lead the all-time series between the squads, but UNI has a mark of 14-7 in games played in Cedar Falls. The Panthers won both of the regular season matchups, first posting an 84-53 blowout victory at home in January and then slipping by in a 68-65 final on the road a month later.
Going out on the limb here & taking the Better team at home for the SWEEP.
