Uconn has really impressed me playing without their Hall of Fame coach for the past few games. This team is not a great shooting team, but they have some quick athletic guards and they play hard. I like UConn to keep it close on Big Monday. I expect Lville to jump out early. Lville will be ranked by the end of the regular season and you will not want to meet this team in the Big East tournament. I know a lot of people are impressed with LVille for Saturdays performance against WV, but please keep in mind that WV is probably the most over rated team in the nation.

You are probably right re: the quick start by the ville. But that is worth about 2 cents in this league, because no lead is safe. I think I like the ville 1st half. gl though.......

I think the WV game has a lot of bearing on this game tonight. Here's why:
Pitino doesn't make B2B mistakes often. The Cards had a 8 pt lead with five minutes left and acted like they were down. Poor shot selection and impatient clock management coupled with sloppy defense lost what should have been an easy finish for them. Pitino will not stand for this again. I believe da'Ville is the better team here and if they don't have this in the bag at the 5 min mark they should probably have a small lead. IF THAT IS THE CASE, we should see Pitino initiate Operation Protect and Extend the Lead. A lesson I imagine he desperately wants to pound into the heads of these stubborn kids so that it's second nature come March. The goal would be a DD win and I think that makes coach concentrate on margin of victory here, as opposed to just the win.
This game is too volatile for me to bet on but I thought I would share why I would not take Uconn. (At first glance I also felt like there was value there.)
That first half play(nice call pitbull) seems like the way to go if ya gotta gamble cuz the birds will be playing that usual frantic pace they love so much until Pitino starts his late game management 101 class.

how has conn played some of their best ball lately. blown out in prov, lost to marquette on their home floor, and beat a spirally tex team. hmmmmm tough one but louisville builds on their strong performance in wv, and gets it done at home
