the last game, and their opponent was a favorite. With
the Makers 0-3 ATS this season against foes coming off

By the chance the 17-8 / 8-6 Jayhawks are being offered
points in the matchup against the 17-8 / 8-6 Cougars tonight,
you know exactly where we’ll be. Read: getting ready
to ‘snap the rubber band.’ The 23rd-ranked Kansas crew
brings a 12-0 SU and 10-2 ATS mark when coming off a
loss and seeking revenge into this game. Roll the clock back
one year, and you’ll likely remember when BYU invaded
Allen Field House as an 8-point dog, only to walk out with
a 76-68 victory. Losing games on the hallowed grounds of
Phog Field House is close to harrowing for Jayhawks fans.
It’s where KU has gone 838-166 since its inception. And
then there is head coach Bill Self’s sick 17-2 SU and 12-6-1
ATS career record in conference games against opponents
with an identical record, including 5-0 SUATS this decade.
Next to the Mormons’ miserable 0-7 ATS mark at home
when coming off a SUATS win when facing foes with an
equal win percentage coming off a spread win of 13 or

Tom Izzo, MSU does a fantastic job of keeping opponents off the offensive glass.

So much of what Purdue does in the half-court is predicated on the elite playmaking of Braden Smith, who’s having an unbelievable season.

I expect Izzo to use a revolving door of Jeremy Fears Jr., Tre Holloman and Jaden Akins to try to contain Smith and keep him in check.

On the interior, MSU has the bigs inside to battle with Trey Kaufman-Renn and make him work for his buckets in the paint.

Purdue often struggles to find a consistent third scoring option, particularly if Fletcher Loyer is off the mark from deep. That will be problematic against a physical and disciplined Spartan defense.

On the other end of the floor, the Purdue defense has been somewhat vulnerable all year, and MSU has shot the ball much better inside the friendly confines of the Breslin Center.

Jaxon Kohler should have some success inside, and this feels like a game where Akins could go on a heater.

Purdue has lost two in a row and is somewhat limping into a hostile environment where the Spartans will be ready to go from the jump.

Give me Michigan State to win and cover in an important game for the Big Ten regular season race.
