MISSOURI over South Carolina by 24
The Gamecocks have gone from the penthouse to the
outhouse this season under head coach Lamont Paris. In his
second year at Columbia SC, Paris led the Cocks to a 26-8
record and earned the trophy for 2023 SEC Coach of the Year.
This year, the man is rolling snake eyes. Despite an 84-69 upset
win over Texas last weekend, a once-promising 10-3 start to
the season for South Carolina has dissolved into a 1-14 recent
run. As a result, the Gamecocks are the ONLY team in the SEC
with a losing record and cellar-dwellers to boot! There aren’t
many happy campers on the Missouri sideline either, as the
20-win Tigers are locked in a three-way tie for fourth place
in the loop and they limp in off a 92-85 loss at Arkansas that
snapped a three-game win streak. Looking back to last season,
the Como crowd is still licking their paws following the double
ass-kicking they took from the Gamecocks, and considering
where these two rank on the conference hierarchy, this year’s
Mizzou squad looks to be capable of getting their revenge.
With SC just 1-5 ATS coming off a win when facing a double-
revenge-minded SEC foe and the host Tigers sporting a 10-3
ATS ledger in conference play this season, we’ll be backing the
striped cats tonight.
