It won't let me reply to your other thread, but the claim that the "third meeting goes the way of the second," as someone else already pointed out, is simply not true. There were several examples to contradict that in the last two days alone (Air Force, Wyoming immediately come to mind).
I did find reference to a study by STATS LLC from ~2014-15 on beating the same team three times in a season. Across 981 games, teams that were 2-0 H2H entering the third matchup had a 72.4% winning percentage in the third meeting.
If anyone has data on ATS results (vs. SU), I'd also be curious to see that. Would be handy to have this time of year, for sure.
I am chalking this up as a loss even if NIU comes back they are not going to cover. Too many easy drives and the Drake big man is locked in he will be able to shoot over NIU who are panic shooting already just jacking tough shots while Drake is getting easy baskets.
10 point lead after after shooting 60% and the very surprising 60% from 3. A 3 @ the end would have been nice. Drake almost beat NI @NI but fell apart late. But once their big man is back in Drake will score easy baskets or he will have layups need an early foul on him or it is over, over.
This game is turning for the better rather quickly. These college runs are insane. Lots of time in 2nd half. Could get a straight cover.
