there hasn’t been any crazy buzzer beaters and the star play has been underwhelming. Can’t say if that’s a good thing or bad thing.. I mean it’s impressive to watch UConn run over these teams.. but there has been no fight back.

It’s all been about coaching.

But yea it’s nice to see coaching actually matter this tournament.. it’s a wake up call to all the other big programs also that the transfer portal has indeed changed the way teams come into these tournaments.

Calipari has always been like that. Very little in game adjustments and just relies on his big time athletes, who are usually heavily freshmen, to figure it out and just out-athlete the competition.

also shows how weak the nba draft will be this year. If there was ever a year the nets who have no draft picks to miss out it would be this one. Very lucky..
kind of crazy how teams will not give up 3-5 first round picks nowadays like it’s stripper money..
it’s like front offices know the transitioning Period from college to nba is different now and you could find better talent through the international level.

I've been saying this all season with regards to my New Mexico Lobos. There's is so much hype and anticipation here in Albuquerque; and I even heard it on TV. The talking heads kept hyping up the UNM backcourt, and yet they play out of control and take terrible shots in big games. There's never any in-game adjustments... in fact, there are no adjustments made at the half. Just let them play like it's a school-yard pick-up game.
You hit the nail on the head with this thought!

GCU was worse. They won over 25 games with just better athletes and talent. They run no plays and just play pick type basketball. Can win a tournament with that style.

NIL people and thank god for it.. keeping players around not going pro too early. So you better coach your freshmen with some older guys.. ALSO, if you can’t stop stupid 3 point shooting when it’s not working ( hello UNC, Arizona) you’re done
notice UConn doesn’t plan on 3’s
