Although Oregon SU beat UCLA last game, UCLA was banged up and still kept the game within a reasonable distance in the 2H. Oregon is still playing for her tourney life, beating a top 10 team is great, beating 2 b2b in the final week of the season will lock their position. Since Jan 1st, Oregon is the 12th ranked team according to KenPom. Dana Altman has adjusted their playing style to best fit his teams needs. They play low and methodical on offense while playing a suffocating pressure defense. Oregon's young guards are now experienced enough under the lights to be trusted to take the big shots, causing the senior upper class bigs to have much more space to work in the post in the New Year.
USC SUCKS. I have bet this team all year and they are plain BAD. Do not tell me stats. Do not tell me records. This team cannot shoot when it matters, this team cannot defend the 3 pt line. They have some of the worst 3 pt rotation I have seen this year, while ranking on the lower half of shot quality on offense. This teams 2 best player are Boogie Ellis and Drew Peterson, the only 2 players to have shown any amount of heart during the season. Ellis was on crutches and was unavailable on thursday against Oregon St, a fucking terrible team who took them to 2 OT. Drew Peterson has some nice shots throughout games, but he is a liability on defense. Again, Oregon St was ranked bottom 5 in defensive efficiency with a 12 game losing streak heading into Thursday's game with the Trojans, and USC COULD NOT put them away. With a 7 pt halftime lead the beavers forced 2OT for the pathetic trojans to win, AND NOT COVER. Lastly, we HAVE to take into account their entire coaching staff rumors being leaked to have talked to and being interested in other teams HAHAHAHA. USC sucks. Poorly coached. DANA ALTMAN. DANCE.
POD: Creighton @ Providence Under 137
I know we all remember one of the greatest regular season games, in recent memory, of the 2 OT with Providence vs Xavier, that was 3 days ago. Oh, and 2 days before that Providence fought back from 17 down @ Butler. Providence is tired bois. Providence prefers a slow defense oriented game, and this home game vs a Blue Jay team without 2 of their top 3 ball handlers is the perfect time to get back on track. Without just throwing random facts out that everyone can look up for themselves, Providence plays at an extremely slow pace at home, and the young Jays have shown they typically match their opponents play style. Issue is, Jays BEST and starting ball handler, Nembhard, is out for the remainder of the season. Creighton's offensive stats have benefited from playing St Johns, Marquette, and Georgetown 2x in their past 5 games, 4 of the top 60 teams, in term of pace, in the country. Providence will be able to control tempo and pace at home. Oh yeah, both defenses rank top 50 in opponent FG % and opponent shooting efficiency on the year.
Lock em in bois.
