Well I’ve thought about it, and it can only boil down to a couple things:
1) The guy fouling is just a stupid low IQ individual,
2) he is just doing what his coach trained him or told him to do (even though if he didn’t foul, his coach won’t care, it’s like acting out of fear)
So in this scenario, I don’t think the player has friends with money on the game because if that was the case, he wouldn’t want to wait until the last second to alter the final score by giving the other team 2 free throws (giving them a chance to cover the 6.5, that would be cutting it really close).
Sorry if I couldn’t give a better explanation. But take Georgetown this time +9.5
