Hey Guys,
Well I had to pull the trigger on Princeton +4.5. I loved them against IUPUI and didn't pull the trigger as I already had 2 plays on the day, but that proved to be a mistake. Here is why I like Princeton tonight:
1. St. Louis has tons of injuries and will have an 8-man rotation today and they start 3 guards, so they have no scholarship guards coming off the bench. A walk on that hasn't played since a January blowout will see some minutes.
2. On top of that, St Louis played a double OT game on Monday (just like Princeton), but their main guards played TONS of minutes, while Princeton had two bench players get over 30 minutes themselves.
3. Princeton is a tough team to prepare for on short rest, much more so that St. Louis. St. Louis also hasn't faced many teams like Princeton this year (only Richmond plays a similar style of offense) and they are a team full of Freshman and Sophomores, this disciplined Princeton offense and defense will be a huge challenge for them.
4. The total looks just right at 105-106 and it looks to be a 51-56 possession game, 4.5 looks way bigger in these types of situations.
5. Also, Princeton (although they don't get to the line as often) is a much better free-throw shooting team and will be one of the toughest defense teams that they faced (Temple - who beat St. Louis at St. Louis was the other similar defense).
I am probably a little less objective than usual as I am mad that I wasn't on Princeton last game too, but this game has plenty of value based on the matchups, short prep time, and crazy minutes the St. Louis starters played last game.
