Lost my last 2 picks, and looking back on them I just did not do a good job on breaking them down. Tonight that all changes, SOUTHERN Conference starts tonight and I will rarely jump outside of this conference, for it has been really good to me over the last 5 years.

In opening conference games (espesh mid-majors) it is important to see which teams have been tested ans in this match up it is by far ELON. The Phoenix have traveled to South Carolina(lost by 15 cover),Maryland(lost by 20+ but lead at halftime). Furman played Kent St (lost by 5 neutral court), Penn St(blown out). These teams are really similar stat wise Elon(42%fg,35%3,58%ft), Furman(44%,36%3, 73ft) Furman has the edge in ft % and thats it. Factor in Elon won @ Furman by 11 last yr and lost by 5 at home vs Furman and both teams are basically led by the same players. The DAWGS bite in Socon play and in fact another one will cover tonight.
