Maryland -4.5 vs. neptune (BO)
neutral court
When I have time later, will write some stuff about these, and High Point. Super disappointing line came out for their game tomorrow vs missouri state. -8.5. Need to mull it. But got some stuff about them worth sharing

vcu doubledowner- have to. I dont love vcu with their high reliance on 3's and shaky frontcourt, but, they are going to play with a ton of effort and aggressive defense, something miami shouldnt like much. VCU hasnt hit the 3's at a strong clip in this tourney, but the looks should be way more open against miami defense than they were against hall and nevada. Miami has the look of a team that needs alot more practice and to change some things up, but all they have is this one day between games. And considering laranaga couldnt find the answer last season, it would be pretty shocking to me if he finds it in time for this one. It's pretty wild, the high ranked 5* dude they got Bethea, he's barely done anything and is like pouting out there.
Maryland- neptune already has 3 L's and hasnt faced an actual top 50 team yet. Getting basically pummelled by uva is a terrible look. They have the talent to overcome his coaching on occasion and will probably beat a good team here and there this season, but I doubt it's in the first matchup against one.
Vandy- I mean here we are right. This was inevitable. I've won twice on vandy in this tourney, lost twice against D2ake. Something has to give. Vandy's quickness and quality depth i still think will be an issue for them. But. This is game 6 of D2ake's 36-0 natl champ season so...yea i'm screwed

felt like writing out my thoughts on high point , because I find them pretty fascinating
Hi Point is kind of like McNeese this season. They have way better quality depth than most lower mid major's have. It's not often you see a team like high point retain most of the core from a 27-9 team, and then add to it with quality proven talent from the portal. This Coach will not be there long. They only player they lost was their top scorer Duke Miles from last year, but he's been replaced by Dmarian williams who basically slotted right in giving same production, but they also added a guy Johnson who's a sniper, 14-24 from 3 this season, and used to be a 40% 3's guy on volume at Stetson.
But on top of that, there are 4 other players who haven't played yet for them due to injuries (much like mcneese), when healthy they will have insane quality depth for a team like this. Terry Anderson (6'6, 5th yr sr, avg efficient 13 and 6.5 at lamar) bobby pettiford (the former 4* kansas dude, did not live up to hype there, but averaged efficient 8 pts, 3.5 assists at ECU last yr. would be luxury item type guard off the bench) , McChesney (6'10, avg 6.5 pts at Ill St, will be quality vet bench big that can shoot 3's) , and then the wildcard, canadian dude Hildebrandt. these canadian transfers real wildcards. It sounds like he could be a good player.
Currently there does seem to be some dropoff with the bench that would be mitigated with a couple these dudes coming back.
The coach said in thee press conference after their game against american last week, essentially that he has 5 in street clothes on the bench right now, that would probably beat every team on their schedule. (starter Giffa missed that game, so he's the 5th he's referring too. I believe was just precautionary). But he did not indicate when the players will be actually be back.
Thus far, they haven't played anyone good except uab (who isnt actually good right now). And frankly that game was a little shaky. So with the team as currently constituted, assuming none of these guys are back yet, I'm not exactly chomping at the bit to lay several possessions here.
I would love to hammer this team against BC assuming they both win and play eachother monday and the line is pretty low. BC should be mediocre at best and certainly is the type that would get taken by a team like this.
so will be monitoring this, hoping it turns out that 1 or 2 of the injured guys will be making debut in this tourney. its possible they were giving 1 or 2 extra healing time by waiting for this tourney.

Agree on Miami. They are brutal team. Lazy. Limited ball movement. It’s all about watching Pack dribble around the perimeter.
They also can’t handle playing in a style they aren’t accustomed to, they want to run up and down the floor with max possessions. Laranaga is hailed as this great coach, but last year they were a disaster and I don’t see much difference this year.
VCU or no play. Also love Vandy. BOL

decided to roll with High Point. I heard Pettiford and Terry Anderson were seen practicing in the Caimans. Not sure that means they're playing or how much they'll play. Any minutes from either would bring a nice jolt to the team. I do think either way, high point should be ahead and more prepared for this tourney than brand new mizzou state team, and I want to look to ride this team a couple games here. So laying it
1.1 / 1
High Point -8 vs. mizzou st (BO)
