Western KY -1.5 over Ohio (Large Play for Me)
When you look at
the body of work by Western KY (6-2) thus far on the year it is really
impressive.
-Beat highly
ranked Purdue by 4 on neutral court (77-73)
-Lost to top
ranked Villanova by 8 on a neutral court (58-66)
-Beat a decent
SMU team by 2 on a neutral court (63-61)
Their only 2
losses on the season were to Villanova and a damn good (9-2) Mo. State team by 5 points (80-85) in a game where Mo. State was on fire making 34 of their 61 shots (56%), which is
insane. The fact that W. KY lost this game by only 5 points tells you how good they are.
On the other hand, Ohio (4-4) has
nothing close to this impressive on their resume.
-Lost to a very mediocre
Dayton team on a neutral court by 14 points (65-79)
-Lost at home to Iona
by 5 points (88-93)
-Had to go to
Overtime to beat a very bad (2-5) Indiana State team
-Lost to Maryland
in their last game on 12/7 by 25 points (62-87)
This Maryland
game was Thursday, just 3 days ago, so Ohio has been traveling while W. KY has been practicing
and preparing for their next game. This should significantly favor the Hill Toppers.
Since beating SMU
on 11/24, W. KY has played a very light schedule of only 2 games.
-Beat E. KY
on 11/29 by 32 points (83-51)
-Beat Wright State on 12/2 by 18 points (78-60).
There is no question that the Hill Toppers
are healthy and well rested and should be ready to play. If there is any concern, they could start out
a little rusty, but there appears to be a significant enough difference in
talent to overcome this.
I really think
this line is off by 5-6 points. I think W.
KY should be favored in this game by 7-8 points based off of their YTD performance.
BOL and may be
back with 1 or 2 more, but NFL is my primary focus today.
