Happy Tuesday, everyone! Took a few days off after a bad loss Saturday, but luckily, it was only singular. I am now 10-7 on the year and my Plays of the Day are now 2-2.
Been waiting on today's card for days now and it has arrived. Let's get started!
Memphis @ East Carolina (+5.5)
This is going to be my Play of the Day. East Carolina is on an absolute tear, having covered their last five games (Tulsa, @Memphis, Cincinnati, @UConn, UCF) and going 7-1 ATS at home this season. What makes them so much better on the home court? Allowing just 58.9 ppg and shooting 47% from the field. I wish my guy took Money Line bets because I would lay one on the Pirates here, but taking 5.5 points will work here as well.
Missouri State @ Evansville (-7.5)
There's a saying in basketball coaching that bad streaks come in three's. That's what has happened to the Purple Aces. After having a sensational start to the season (16-4), they have dropped three straight now. Luckily, they have an offensive inept team in Missouri State (averaging just 60 points on the road this season) in town tonight to start the rebound process. Watch for MVC star 6-10 Center/Forward Egidijus Mockevicius to have a great game.
Wisconsin/Nebraska OVER 121
Wisconsin offensively on the road this season against conference opponents: 71.5 ppg.
Nebraska offensively at home this season against conference opponents: 65 ppg.
I fully expect Wisconsin to clear 60 points easily and Nebraska should do the same (last two home games have cleared 75+).
I am also going to offer a lean here. I am a die hard Razorback fan and the total for their game tonight is astronomically high for how well the hogs have been playing defensively. Some numbers to back that up
First five SEC games: 81.2 points per game, 50.7 percent field goals, 47.7 percent 3-point field goals
Last five SEC games: 55.4 points per game, 35.4 percent field goals, 23.9 percent 3-point field goals
In Auburn's five SEC home games this season, the total has averaged 149.8 so that may be why it is set so high, but it is hard to ignore the defensive adjustments made by the Hogs. Again, I am a homer and won't be betting it (Yeah, I am the guy who won't bet his team because of superstition. ) Just thought I would offer some numbers to help with your decision.
Again, I am always open to thoughts, comments, and/or questions. BOL to you all!
