So hypothetical gambling question. Say you have a 2 team parlay where the first of the 2 games hits. Does it not make sense to just go in and hedge your original bet so that you guarantee profit?
example:
So Ill -6 and Wisc -2 $15 to win $35
since So Ill already won you take:
St Louis +2 $18 to win $15
I know the answer to this is pretty obvious but you know how it goes. haha

you're better off just making your first play then only
and then if/when you win just decide on who you like in the second game and bet some lesser amount
its essentially the same thing
if you're going to hedge then no reason to play the second play
Totally agree with BryGuy...it's called gambling for a reason. A 2 team parlay hedge is just silly..
Now if you have some crazy 10 teamer that is going to pay some ridiculous amount, then you may want to consider making a hedge play but on a simple 2-teamer...forget it and let it play out

Unless you made the second wager without researching it and then realized its a bad play let it ride. taking the sure profit on the first game shouldnt be done often, because the payout of a winning ticket is large. With money line parlays there is the possibility you can hedge your bet with live wagering during the game, or a halftime wager but with a spread bet you can rarely get that opportunity where the spread is equal to the line you have it.
