3-4 yesterday. Miami can't be bet again for the rest of the year I'd imagine.
Appy St +2
Neither team has played in nearly 2 weeks, and I think that favors a home team that hasn't played a home game in a month. Troy has beat up on a couple non DI teams, and haven't played a meaningful game since the beginning of December. Troy is supposed to finish at or near the top of the Sun Belt, so they will get Appys best shot here.
Memphis -3.5
I have no concerns about the road spot here for the Tigers. FAU allows opponents to shoot nearly 40% from the arc, and only eight teams in the country shoot the three at a better clip than Memphis. They don't shoot a ton of them, but they make 40% of the ones they do take. FAU only has one win against quality opponent (Liberty on a neutral floor), and I don't think they have anyone to stop PJ Haggerty, or the athletes in general to compete in this one.
Marshall -1
Conference home opener, and the Herd faithful have nothing else to do, so I'd imagine the atmosphere should be pretty good. Texas St turns the ball over quite a bit, and that has contributed to their road struggles. They've won once this year on an opposing floor, and that was at Texas Southern. Marshall likes to get out and run a bit, and they are much better at it at home, while the Bobcats play a sleepy offense that can get stagnant. I'll take the home team to win.
Northwestern/Penn St Under 145
Penn St does run a bit, which is a little scary, but I think Chris Collins is a great coach, and will do everything he can to control the tempo. His team isn't built to get into shoot outs, they need methodical offensive possessions, and are patient. PSU hasn't seen a defense as good as this Wildcats team, and they have played a few nobodies over the last three weeks, so I expect some rust when going up against actual competition. I'd bet NW but they can go through dry spells and it scared me off the number.
Radford +9
High Point has been terrorizing weaker opponents, but this isn't a walk over program at Radford. They will expose the Panthers rebounding issues, and continue to get freebies from the charity stripe, and keep this game in single digits.
North Dakota St -3
The Bison are winners of 8 straight, and since beating Butler on 12/10, they've won by 29,36, and 34, albeit against inferior competition. It's the sign of a good program, when you don't fall asleep at the wheel against the lower tiered teams, after a win vs a good team. This will be the conference opener for both teams, and I think the crowd gives the Bison all the energy needed, and they win by double digits.
Illinois St +6
Murray St has lost 4 of their last 5, with the lone win being the 5th place game in Hawaii. Now they come back home for a quick game with Ill St, who has won 4 of their last 5, and then hit the road again to face Drake and UNI, two top teams in the conference. Just a really shitty spot for the Racers tonight.
Running out of time...here is the rest of my card
Minnesota +5.5
Rutgers +5
Sam Houston St -1
Montana -1.5
Illinois/Oregon Under 155
Good luck everyone. A great night of games.
