Time to show some Ball

1-0 Thursday on the Pine Bluff cover. Getting this one in early:

Ball State +9.5: Ball State needs to win and get some help to swipe the last berth to the MAC conference tourney. They have a tough game at Miami-Ohio, but the Redhawks are already locked into the No. 2 seed behind Akron and ahead of Kent St and Ohio. Ball also looking for revenge after losing by 8 to Miami at their gym. This game also starts an hour earlier than the other MAC final games, so the Cardinals will look to come out and put the pressure on Western Michigan and Bowling Green who play later. Note that Central Michigan is also in the mix for 1 of the last 2 berths and have an easy home game against woeful Northern Illinois. Cardinals may not win this game outright over a good Miami team but they'll have every reason to empty the tank for 40 minutes and at least keep it close. If they can find a way to win, then they have to hope the other results fall their way. 1.5 units.

 See good defense plus neither team pushes the pace

Boise State -5.5: Really like this Broncos team ... watched them beat New Mexico 3 weeks or so ago ... real stout defensive team with an efficient offence and a good inside game. Definitely got a legit shot to win the conference tourney and go dancing. Think they are just too much at home for Colorado State especially on Seniors Night. Wanted to grab this one early in case the line gets up over 6 overnight. 1 unit.

For its worth Ball State has not practiced since their 20 point meltdown. I coached a couple kids on the UAA Circuit that gave me the information.  

Yes that collapse was gross. Probably ends up costing them a spot in the tourney. Just hoping they have the mental makeup to put it behind them and try to save their season tonight.
