Dayton + 9 - For whatever reason, they got caught with their pants down looking ahead to this game with Saint Louis. VCU should never be a team to look past but they did. However, we are here now and Dayton should stay competitive in this game.
A few patterns I am seeing for second-half plays that I will post today as plays if I see it develop. This has worked in the NBA at times as well.
1. Scenario - Team favored for the game is up big at half, up >20+ at the half. If this happens and the second half-line allows a middle then play it. Meaning take the original game dog even if they are favored second half. Often times this will not cover until the last 2 minutes of the game because of garbage time, but it happens way too often.
2. If a total is in the 40's first half and teams are shooting less than 30%, second-half play is the over.
3. Mid-major teams with a significant edge on back to back games are replicating themselves. Must be big edges like Wright St vs IUPUI. NDSU vs Denver. We have another scenario coming up this week with Wright St vs RMU.
4. NBA scenario - high scoring first halves>130+. If this happens play the second half under. NBA games are looking like all-star games. No one plays defense in the first half and early third quarter in high scoring games, but the 4th quarter becomes very tight and begins to get serious.
I use to be a guy that loved to buck trends but it is a losing situation. These scenarios I have been playing for the last two weeks small and have been successful. I will now start to make them regular wagers.
